Kathleen Carrie SMITH, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the age of 92 years surrounded by her family.
Kathleen was born in Simcoe, Ontario on August 12, 1915. The couple greatly enjoyed the Square Dancing Club and the Curtain Drama Club. Kay had a life long passion for the Performing Arts and in her later years took great delight in classic movies. To round out her activities, Kay owned and operated an upscale clothing consignment shop for several years. In 1999, Kay moved to Calgary to begin a new chapter in her life and to be closer to her family.
All of her life Kay provided guidance and support for all of her Friends, associates and family members and she always did this in a warm and gracious manner.
Kathleen will be lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Christine SMITH of Halifax; her daughter and son-in-law, Charleen and Chris EVANS of Invermere; and by her grandchildren, Lesley (Robert) BECHTOLD, of Maine; Geoffrey (Bridget) SMITH of Kingston; Lyndsey (Darrin) BONNELLY of Halifax; Meaghan EVANS and Kash GINIGE of Calgary; Craig (Flo) EVANS of New York; and by seven great-grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Patricia HORNE of Tillsonburg and Sheila EDEY of Sudbury; her uncle Ben SPENCE of Burlington; and by her cousins, Morleen BOUSFIELD of Toronto and Miriam FICK of Thornhill.
