MORTON, Jean M. (formerly BALSDON, née CONNOR)
Of Saint Thomas on Sunday, December 31, 2006, at the Valleyview Home, Saint Thomas, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Orval BALSDON and the late M. William "Dick" MORTON. Loved mother of Max and his wife Pat BALSDON of St. Catharines, Joan and her husband Tom EWANS of Saint Thomas and Brenda and her husband Chet BULA of Pickering. Dear sister of Clayton CONNOR and the late Glen and Alex CONNOR. Dear step-mother of Barbara HUGHES of Texas and the late William R. MORTON. Dear mother-in-law of June MORTON of Saint Thomas. Sadly missed by 13 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Jean was born in Dorchester on April 2, 1917, the daughter of the late Robert N. and Dora (COOK) CONNOR. She was a member of Central United Church, the Lady Trainmen and the Order of the Eastern Star (Maple Leaf Chapter). Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Thursday at 11: 00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses of the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Continuing Care Unit.

After much suffering on Sunday, December 31, 2006 in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late Donald "Wink" SCRUTTON. Loving mother of Lorie GIBSON (Jim,) Michael SCRUTTON (Kathy,) Trisha LOLLAR (Mark), Susan JOLICOEUR (Ron), Alison MEEHAN (Dan) and Jennifer LOVE (mike.) Proud grandmother of Cathy (Dave,) Jimmy (Allison), Elizabeth, Matthew, Kate, Ben, Mitchell, Julie, Ian (Kim), Laura, Jane, Maddie and Campbell; great-grandmother of Zach and Sam. Survived by her sisters Lisa WELLBELOVE, Jessie ROSE and Audrey WHITE/WHYTE. Predeceased by her brother Edgar EWART and sister Marion CAMPBELL. Died peacefully in Toronto after a long battle with cancer on Monday, January 8th, 2007, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Noreen for 52 years. Much loved father of George WESTEL, and Elizabeth and her husband Andrew TOMLINSON. Loving grandfather of Sarah and Stephen TOMLINSON. He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law and their extended families: Elsa TAFEL, Mary EWART, Beth SHEPPARD, and the late Dorothy SHEPPARD. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Thursday, January 11th, 2007, at 11 a.m. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery.
