STURGIS, Lillian Jean (formerly CHESNEY, née LAW)
Age 74 of Dresden passed away Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus. She was born in Chatham daughter of the late George and Nellie QUICK) LAW. Lillian was a member of Evangel Pentecostal Tabernacle, Dresden. Beloved wife of Bill STURGIS; loving mother of Debbie and Peter EPP of Dresden and Jeff Chesney and Carrie BROWNING of Dresden dear step-mother of Patricia and Doug VANDENBROEK of Huntsville and Paula and Al CECCACCI of Chatham; special grandmother of Kristen EPP of Toronto, Nicholas EPP of Dresden and Lisa CAMPBELL of Corunna; dear step-grandmother of William CECCACCI of Chatham. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband William CHESNEY (1986.) Friends will be received at the Thomas L. DeBurger Funeral Home, 620 Cross Street, Dresden on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the Evangel Pentecostal Tabernacle, Dresden on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 1: 30 p.m. with Rev. Robert ELKA officiating. Interment in Dresden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made by cheque to Gideon Bibles or Teen Challenge. LEDER, Mannie
It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the sudden passing of Mannie LEDER, in his 88th year, on July 26, 2007. Mannie LEDER, beloved husband of the late Eleanor (ELKE,) precious and treasured father of Gail LEDER and Dan GOODWILL, Karen and Adam PIVNICK, Cindy LEDER and Harley ULSTER, and Jamie and Alvina LEDER. Truly cherished and much loved Zaida of Ellery and Philip ULSTER, Elyssa and Alexander PIVNICK, and Jacob, Alexis, Lucas and Levi LEDER. Devoted brother and brother-in-law of Edye and Mort ARBUCK, and the late Frances and Irving PUSTIL. Brother-in-law of Jack and Ida SCHWARTZ (Detroit, Michigan). A proud veteran of World War 2, he served his country so that we could enjoy both freedom and peace in Canada. Special thanks to Maricel, Armi and Fely for providing many years of loving companionship and care for him. At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, 2401 Steeles Avenue West (3 lights west of Dufferin), for service on Sunday, July 29th at 2: 30 p.m. Interment Beth Shalom Section of Mt. Sinai Memorial Park. GROBSTEIN, Harry
Peacefully at home, as was his fervent wish, in West Palm Beach, on Wednesday, December 5, 2007, in his 98th year. Beloved and loving husband of Ruth Elkman GROBSTEIN since 1986. He guaranteed her 15 years, but in typical fashion exceeded his commitment by giving her almost 22. Predeceased by his cherished first wife, Mildred Wagner GROBSTEIN, who passed away on December 7th, 1984. Deeply loved and respected by his children, Barbara, Debra and John, who will sorely miss him. Harry was a wonderful father-in-law to Michael LEFCOE and Barry CAMPBELL, and step-father to Richard and Cindy ELKMAN, and Ron ELKMAN, all of whom loved him like a father. Beloved grandfather of Yaacov and Batsheva LEFCOE, Kris LEFCOE and Rob JERESKI; Matthew and Jeremy CAMPBELL; Marissa and Justin SCHMIDT, David, Molly and Laura ELKMAN; Mark ELKMAN. Great-grandfather of 10 great-grandchildren in Israel and Florida. Sadly, Harry will not be with us to welcome his 11th and 12th great-grandchildren, expected soon in Israel and New York. Harry was also a much loved uncle. He led a full, productive and happy life, and was admired by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Predeceased by his brothers David GROBSTEIN and Nick PROCTOR, and by his sisters Rae FAERMAN and Gerry BIRNBAUM. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons, Montreal on Friday, December 7 at 2: 00 p.m. Shiva in Montreal through Monday evening continuing in Toronto at 20 Highland Avenue, Tuesday and Wednesday.
