Peacefully, after a brief illness, on 12 June 2007, in Portsmouth,
England, aged 82. Born in Portsmouth on 10 June 1925, Edwina
trained at Salisbury Teachers' College after the war and later
graduated from Queen's University (B.A. and
M. Ed.). World traveller,
cat-lover, and keen gardener, she had a long and eclectic career
as a teacher, first in England, then in Ottawa, at various schools
in the Kingston area, as Education Officer at the Prison for
Women, and overseas in Zambia, in London, as well as in Nigeria
and Lesotho. Edwina is survived by Dennis, her husband of 58 years

CAMPBELL) in Kingston, Charles (Carol
PARKIN) in Glasgow and
Mark (Birgit
EGGERS) in Berlin; her granddaughters Georgia

(Katie
CLAPSON) and her great-nieces Lucy
CLAPSON and
Cecilia CLAPSON in Scotland. She was predeceased by infant twin
grand_sons Benjamin and Daniel
CAMPBELL in 1985. A memorial service
and interment will take place at noon on 19 July 2007 at the
Church of the Resurrection in Drayton, Portsmouth, England, with
a reception to follow. In Edwina's remembrance, donations may
be made to Domino Theatre in Kingston, to Oxfam Canada, or to
the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Patricia was a graduate of Saint Michael's
School of Nursing, class of 1946. Her varied interests included
nature, the environment, and the arts. After leaving her home
in Scarborough where she had many wonderful, active years, there
followed four very challenging years where she revealed the true
extent of her courage and determination. She will be greatly
missed, lovingly remembered and always in our hearts. Visitation
from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2007, at Jerrett
Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Rd., Scarborough. A funeral mass will

Two dead in separate stabbings

St. Catharines -- Two St. Catharines men are charged with second-degree
murder in the death of a 20-year-old Fonthill man stabbed on
the weekend in front of dozens of horrified pub-goers.
Mike DAY died from his injuries Saturday.
Joseph MITCHELITIS and Allen
EGGLETON, both 21, are being held
in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
Police say officers arrived to discover two men had been stabbed.
Both were taken to hospital and a third man, also suffering from
stab wounds, later arrived at the hospital.
Meanwhile, in Brantford, police are searching for a 16-year-old
murder suspect, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal
Justice Act, in connection with a fatal stabbing at a house party
early Saturday. The 18-year-old victim was rushed to the Brantford
General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
