SCHEMMER, Yumi (née UNO)
Passed away suddenly on October 17, 2007 in Victoria, B.C., at the age of 50 years. Born in Gifu, Japan, daughter of Takao UNO and the late Tomiko UNO. Beloved wife and life partner of Doctor Robert SCHEMMER. Devoted mother to her beloved children Emi and Jeffrey and fondly remembered by Emi's partner Daniel DAHAN. Lovingly remembered by her brother Kenji UNO and his wife Rika, of Oakville, Ontario; brothers-in-law Axel and Jürgen SCHEMMER and sisters-in-law Christine VIAU and Brigitte RANEY, all in Ontario, and their families. Sadly missed by her special Friends Hiroko Barall and Kazuko Moghul, and her many Friends in Toronto, Vancouver, and Victoria, for her generous, kind and gentle spirit. Yumi was an accomplished writer, with 4 published books and many articles reflecting Japanese life in Canada. She was affiliated with the Japanese Cultural Centre in Toronto for many years, and was an active volunteer in Victoria, supporting culture, the arts, and social justice.
Cremation and private family service: a memorial service to celebrate Yumi's life will be announced at a later date. Please, no flowers. If desired, donations may be made in Yumi's name to her favourite charity, Sleeping Children Around the World, 28 Pinehurst Crescent, Toronto, Ontario M9A 3A5, www.scaw.org. William Delanore CRONK
Del CRONK, a resident of Billings Township, died at home on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the age of 61 years.
He was born in Kagawong, son of the late John and Laurinda (ORR) CRONK. He drove truck most of his life, with imperial Oil for over 20 years, and for commercial Transport, Day Transport and lastly Manitoulin Transport. Del loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and golfing. He will be sadly missed, but many memories will be cherished. Del is survived by dearest friend Ethel BOWERMAN of Mindemoya, brothers Mark of Billings Township , Ross (Marilyn WYERS) of Billings Township , Charles (Chris RACEY) of Gore Bay and sisters Laura MULVILLE (Ron THORNTON) of Gravenhurst, Gladys BELAND (Clifford) of Sudbury, Peggy THIBAULT (Earl DAHL) of Sudbury and Mary Ellen THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (Ron) of Sault + Sainte Marie. Predeceased by brothers Thomas and Billy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Culgin Funeral Home Tuesday. The funeral service will be conducted in the William G. Turner Chapel on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 11.00 am with Reverend Mary Jo ECKERT TRACY officiating. Cremation to follow. In remembrance, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated.

At North Lambton Resthome on January 7, 2007. Beloved wife of the late Eugene (1989). Dearest mother of Donald (Alice), Norman (Anne), Dorothy (Nick DAHM) and Ilene (Roy VARDY). Grandmother of 8 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 11. She was predeceased by her grand_son Mark (1991) and her 3 brothers John, Evans and Britton. She was 92 years old. Resting at Ronn E. Dodge Funeral Home, 9 James Street at Watt, Forest. Funeral service on Tuesday at 1: 30 p.m. with Rev. Christine O'REILLY. Visitation on Tuesday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. before service. Interment Beechwood Cemetery. Donations to the North Lambton Resthome Auxiliary appreciated. For those of you who know and remember Evelyn we know you will understand in truth she left us many years ago and we have been mourning her loss ever since. A tree will be planted in memory of Evelyn by the Dodge Family.

BREARLEY, Ruby Evelyn (formerly DAHMER)
Peacefully at Saint Peter's Hospital on December 7, 2007 in her 93rd year with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Ray DAHMER (1969) and the late Hugh BREARLEY (2006.) Loving mother of Violet Louise ALBERY (née DAHMER) and her husband Robert of Ottawa and George DAHMER and his wife Bonnie of Barrie. Grandma will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Hollie, Laura, Christopher, Tammie, Raymond, Stephanie and five great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Cora and her husband Clarence NIESSEN, sister-in-law Noreen RUTHERFORD and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Predeceased by her brother Bill RUTHERFORD. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service and visitation will be held at Emmanuel United Church 871 Upper Ottawa St. Hamilton (South of Fennell Ave.) on Thursday, December 13 from 12-1 p.m. with the service to follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Saint Peter's Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
