SHARPE, Marion Elizabeth
Peacefully on Friday August 24, 2007 at the Stayner Nursing Home in her 88th year. Marion of Stayner, beloved wife of the late Jack SHARPE. Loving mother of Brenda and her husband Wayne DAVIDSON and the late Lynda GREEN. Dear grandmother of Tonya (David) HUGHES, Greg (Chantelle) DAVIDSON and Leah (Allan) HANCOCK and great-grandmother of Taylor and Carson HUGHES and Maxwell DAVIDSON. Sister of the late Marj SPICHER, late Roy BUIE, late Earl BUIE, late Helen PERRY and Hazel McGAULEY. Friends were received at the Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home, Stayner (705-428-2637) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Service was held at Jubilee Presbyterian Church, Stayner on Monday August 27, 2007 at 2 o'clock. Interment Stayner Union Cemetery. SMYTHE, Dorothy Bromby
Passed away peacefully with family at her bedside after a courageous battle with cancer on December 24, 2007, at the age of 82, at her home in Newmarket. Beloved wife of Jim for 59 wonderful years devoted and loving mother of Rob, Pat (BUIE) and Sandra (RUTHERFORD) cherished nana of Debbie, Jillian, Jennifer, Erin, Matthew, Gregory, Cayleigh, and Samantha; dear sister of Bernice; and loving mother-in-law of Sue, Neil, and Bruce. Dorothy was well known in the Toronto entertainment industry. An accomplished concert organist, she performed, produced, and directed shows at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, the Royal Horse Show, the National Home Show, Ontario Place, and Yorkdale. Her involvement in the Church of the Ascension, Don Mills, and in Trinity Church, Aurora, was exceptional. As wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, performer, church worker, and friend, Dorothy touched the lives of many people. Her contribution to the happiness of the world is a rich legacy. Visitations will be held at the Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket, on Friday, December 28, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 79 Victoria Street, Aurora, on Saturday, December 29, at 11 a.m. Donations to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation - New Cancer Centre would be appreciated. Passed away on Wednesday December 27, 2006 in Montreal, age 92 years. Predeceased by his wife Cécile DUPUIS, he is survived by his children Francine (Bruce ROBILLARD,) Monique (Paul BUISSONNEAU,) Gisèle (the late Keith KROON,) Marie-Andrée (Barry BOWES) and Louis-Philippe (Jocelyne LEFEBVRE,) his grandchildren Alain, Brian, Annick, Martin, Catherine, Sophie-Anne, Mélanie, Christopher, Julien, Laurent and Marie-Ève, his great-grandchildren Sarah, Mathieu, Virginie, Justin, Ève, Félix and Chloé, his sisters-in-law Madeleine and France (Léopold ROY) as well as numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and Friends. The family will receive condolences on Saturday, January 13, 2007 from noon to 4 p.m. at Urgel Bourgie Funeral Parlor 1255, Beaumont (L'Acadie), TMR A liturgy of the Word will follow at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Funeral Complex.
