Passed away peacefully with family at her bedside after a courageous
battle with cancer on December 24, 2007, at the age of 82, at
her home in Newmarket. Beloved wife of Jim for 59 wonderful years
devoted and loving mother of Rob, Pat
(BUIE) and Sandra
(RUTHERFORD)
cherished nana of Debbie, Jillian, Jennifer, Erin, Matthew, Gregory,
Cayleigh, and Samantha; dear sister of Bernice; and loving mother-in-law
of Sue, Neil, and Bruce. Dorothy was well known in the Toronto
entertainment industry. An accomplished concert organist, she
performed, produced, and directed shows at the Royal Agricultural
Winter Fair, the Royal Horse Show, the National Home Show, Ontario
Place, and Yorkdale. Her involvement in the Church of the Ascension,
Don Mills, and
in Trinity Church, Aurora, was exceptional. As
wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, performer, church worker,
and friend, Dorothy touched the lives of many people. Her contribution
to the happiness of the world is a rich legacy. Visitations will
be held at the Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street
South, Newmarket, on Friday, December 28, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 79 Victoria
Street, Aurora, on Saturday, December 29, at 11 a.m. Donations
to the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation - New Cancer
