Suddenly in Owen Sound on Saturday, June 9, 2007. Dennis SMITH of Meaford, beloved husband of Frieda WIDEMAN, at the age of 67. Predeceased by his former wife Carol (née TIPPIN) in 1990. Loved father of Jerry and Naomi SMITH of Port Perry, Wendy SMITH and George UHLARIK of Branchton, Paul SMITH and Tammy KEAN of Meaford, and Chirs and Jane SMITH of Georgetown. Also remembered by Frieda's children Christine and Mitch BRADLEY of Elmira, Kathy and Richard GRAVELLE of Kitchener, and Gerry and Sue WIDEMAN of Drayton. Sadly missed grandpa of seven and step-grandfather of seven. Dear brother of Leta (Mrs. Bud WHITE/WHYTE) of Vancouver, British Columbia and predeceased by a sister Joanne (Jim) OLIVER of Meaford. Special nephew of Nina SMITH of Meaford. Family will receive Friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 48 Boucher St. E., in Meaford on Tuesday from 1: 30 until 4 p.m. and from 7 until 9 p.m. Thence to Knox Presbyterian Church in Meaford where funeral and committal services, officiated by Reverend Steve BEDARD, will be conducted on Wednesday, June 13 at 1: 30 p.m. with cremation to follow. Retired Sergeant Queen's Own Rifles and veteran of World War Two, Ed MORIN of Meaford passed away peacefully at the Meaford Hospital on Friday August 31, 2007 at the age of 83. Loved father of William ‘Bill' MORIN and his partner Susan BROWN of Meaford and sadly missed grandfather of Laurie and her partner Steve BALL of Edmonton, Alberta. Fondly remembered by his wife Elizabeth of Meaford and by her family: Jeff BROWN and his wife Brenda and their children Tyler, Jennie and Ben of Paynes Mills, and Patty BROWN of Sackville, New Brunswick. Predeceased by his wife, the former Shirley Christine BROWN. Family will receive Friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home in Meaford on Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. Funeral and committal services, officiated by Pastor Steve BEDARD, will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday September 3, 2007 at 11 o'clock with cremation to follow. Interment of Ed's ashes will take place at Stayner Union Cemetery at a later date. Peacefully at Belmont House on November 2, 2007 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Michael GEORGE. Cherished mother of Diana (Bill RESTIVO) and Denise (Gerry BEDARD.) Long-time member of Christ Church Deer Park where she was sidesperson, member of the Chancel Guild and loyal supporter of the Anglican Church Women's rummage sales, bazaars and luncheons. Ruby contributed to other volunteer organizations throughout her life - Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, Food Bank, Out of the Cold and the 48th Highlanders Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire. Many thanks to the compassionate staff of Belmont House. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 11: 00 a.m. at Christ Church Deer Park, 1570 Yonge Street, Toronto with a reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Peacefully at the White Eagle Nursing Home on Friday, December 14, 2007 in her 84th year. Survived by her sister Joyce and her husband Joe ROSENTHAL. Predeceased by brothers Murray, Ross, Hugh and Gerry and sister Ruth. Also predeceased by her nephews Ronald and Walter. Survived by four nieces; Anne, Eleanor, Jeannette and Susan and cousins Barbara and Paul BITZER, and Joan and Lew BRADICH, of Kitchener. Lois will also be remembered by her Friends of the Forward Group. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street, W at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2007. Daniel Howard Wallace HINDMAN, the beloved husband of the late Ruth Josephine ("Pete") HINDMAN (née McKAY.) Loving father of Lynda SMITH, Elizabeth and her husband David BEDFORD, Kenneth George (Skip) HINDMAN and his wife Karen, and Susan and her husband Paul KIRK. Loving grandfather of Sandra, Brian, Christie, David, Christine, Jason, Kendra, Scott, Jeffrey, Daniel, Rachael, Cassandra and Nicholas. Great-grandfather of five. Dear brother of Helen and her husband Parker EVANS and their family. Howard will long be remembered for his business, sporting and community involvement. Howard was the president of the Hindman Transportation Company. He will be sadly missed by 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Survived by sister Marguerite AVEY of Norwich, brother Bev and wife Ena of Norwich, sister-in-law Meta AVEY of Tillsonburg, brother-in-law Stacey HINKS of Norwich. Predeceased by grand_son Greg BURD, sisters Phyllis and Pauline, brothers Russell, Doug and Clarence. Ken worked for the old Department of Highways for over 30 years. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Lillian passed away on September 29th, 2007 in Toronto. Beloved wife of Raffi BEDIKIAN, loving mother of Christophe and Nicholas, cherished sister of Bruno, John and Michael RAKIEWICZ, Lillian gave and received unconditional love, wherever she went in life. She will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit and her willful determination to overcome her physical challenges. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 4th. Peacefully at his home in London on Friday, September 7, 2007 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of May, née MATHESON (1990) and devoted father of John (1993) and Michael (1949). Dear uncle of Susan PEPPER and Bill HARPER of London, Barbara and Cam STEWARD/STEWART/STUART of Kincardine, and John BROOK of Toronto. Cherished great-uncle of Michael WOOD (Nicole) of London, Kathryn HARPER (Patrick BEDNAREK) of Montreal, Vicky McGEE (Riley) of Edmonton, Craig STEWARD/STEWART/STUART of Port Colborne, and Michael STEWARD/STEWART/STUART of Banff. Born in London, Jim attended Ryerson Public School and Central Secondary School. He served in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in England and northwest Europe, 1940-1945. Following the war, he continued with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps militia in London, serving as Lieutenant-Colonel, 1957-61. Jim worked in human resources for many years, first at Westminster Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital and latterly at Victoria Hospital. After retiring in 1980, he remained active in the Royal London Military Institute, the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps Officers Association, Wolseley Barracks Officers Mess and contributed as a dedicated volunteer for many service organizations, including Middlesex Kiwanis Club and Meals on Wheels. Jim was grateful to all those Friends, neighbours, and professionals who supported his independence and assisted with his care and comfort in his final years. Friends may call on Friday from 2-5 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 Saint_James St. at Richmond, London where the funeral service will be conducted on Sa turday, September 15 at 2: 00 p.m. by Rev. Andrew REID. Passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at the age of 88. Predeceased by his wife Doctor Helena GONSIK and son Peter GONSIK. Dear father of Elizabeth and grandfather of Erik, Jaclyn and Halina. Dear companion of Kathy BEDNARZ. Dear uncle of Elizabeth, Stefania and Anna. Mr. GONSIK became a member of the St. Stanislaus-St. Casimir's Polish Parishes Credit Union in 1949. He then became a member of the Board of Directors in 1963 where he served for 34 years until his retirement in 1996 having served as President from 1966 to 1992. Being a recipient of the Order of Canada, Mr. GONSIK's community involvement was extensive: helped in setting up the first Children and Youth Credit Union; building of the Credit Union at 220 Roncesvalles Avenue; building of the John Paul II monument on Roncesvalles Avenue; having very close ties with Pope John Paul II; supportive of youth sports and scouting member of the Knights of Columbus; one of the founders of Copernicus Lodge and Chief of Biochemistry labs at Toronto Western Hospital. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Funeral Home, 436 Roncesvalles Ave. (at Howard Park), on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. Rosary Prayers 7 p.m. Sunday.
