'An amazing guy' lost
Family say Anthony
BRUN, who was killed Saturday, would do anything
for them.
By Patrick
MALONEY, Sun Media, Mon., December 10, 2007
A 24-year-old Londoner slain this weekend was remembered yesterday
as a well-liked man who would do anything for his parents and
brothers.
Anthony BRUN, a John Paul II alumnus who worked with a relative
in the flooring business, died in hospital following an incident
inside an Old South home early Saturday.
"He was a wonderful young man," Mary
BRUN,
Anthony's stepmother,
said yesterday.
"My son, my beautiful son was taken. And it shouldn't have happened."
Added BRUN's 14-year-old brother, Nick, "He was an amazing guy.
All my family think he's an amazing guy. I loved him."
Relatives say
BRUN was out with acquaintances Friday night and
returned to one of their homes, at 189 Belgrave Ave. just south
of Emery.
London police were called at about 7 a.m. Saturday following
what was described as a "disturbance." A relative says
BRUN was
found injured on the front lawn.
He was later pronounced dead in hospital. A man who lives at
the home is charged with second-degree murder in London's fourth
homicide of 2007.
As an active teenager,
BRUN was a basketball player who spent
years refereeing tournaments across the city.
"He was… well-liked by people," said his emotional father, Luigi.
"I'm shocked. I cried all night (Saturday) night. He was my oldest
son, you know?"
BRUN crossed paths with police as a witness
to a shooting inside Robinson Hall, a posh downtown nightclub.
He was arguing with a cousin, Luciano
BALDINELLI, over a gold
chain when a third man shot
BALDINELLI.
BRUN wasn't charged in
the incident, a relative said.
The funeral is slated for 11 a.m. Thursday at Saint Mary's Church
on Lyle Street.
Gordon Tyler
McCURDY, 33, who lives at 189 Belgrave Ave., is
charged with second-degree murder.
