Kay▼ was born in Toronto on May 4, 1912 and attended the
Bishop Strachan School and the University of Toronto, where she
was an early graduate in physiotherapy. She was involved over
the years in such diverse groups as the Garden Club of Toronto,
the Visiting Homemakers Association, the Toronto Ladies Club/York
Club, the Needlework Guild of Canada, the Herb Society of America,
Abbeyfield Houses of Toronto (founding member), and many others.
In recent years, Kay concentrated on the volunteer committee
of the Royal Ontario Museum, and spent a term on the museum's
Board of Trustees. In 2003 she received a Caring Canadians award
from the Governor General. Many thanks to the wonderful staff
at Christie Gardens. A memorial service will be held in Grace
Church-on-the-Hill, (Lonsdale and Russell Hill Roads) on Tuesday,
November 13, 2007 at 2 o'clock, with interment afterwards at
Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be made

STEWARD/STEWART/STUART, of Cambridge. Margaret spent her
childhood on the family farms in Kemble. As a young mother she
was in the forefront of the drives to build the new arena and
to convert the hall into a Senior and Community Centre. She helped
to produce Christmas Concerts, was a member of the Kemble Women's
Institute, taught gardening for the 4-H Club, took her turn running
the snack bar at the old arena and cleaning the church. She drove
rural mail and was the Post Mistress for many years. She, along
with her mother and others, researched and wrote the Chronicles
of Kemble. Her love of the past was evident in her wealth of
stories and her respect for old things led her to a second career
as a respected antique dealer. Family and Friends may call at
the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 - 14th Street West, Owen
