AXLER, Sara
Peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Etobicoke General Hospital. Sara AXLER, beloved wife of the late Lionel AXLER. Proud and loving mother and mother-in-law of Susan and Bruce RUBIN, Jeff and Helena AXLER, and Ellen and Brahm SEITZ. Devoted Bobe to Elyse, David, Joshua, Benjamin, Elliott, and Maury. Cherished aunt to Sherry and Sandy FRIED, and dear sister to the late Jessica BABB and the late William DOLGOFF. Her courage and determination to those she loved was an inspiration. Services were held at Beth Tzedec Synagogue on Sunday, May 27, 2007. Interment Beth Tzedec Section of Dawes Road Cemetery. Shiva 65 Skymark Doctor #1902. MASTERS, Katharine Louise (née HOBBS)
Kay MASTERS died peacefully on November 8, 2007 at Christie Gardens in Toronto. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Keith MASTERS (d. 1976,) son John Keith MASTERS (d. 1940) and daughter Katharine Patricia (O'LEARY) ALLEN (d. 2004.) Beloved mother of Ian G. MASTERS (Susan) of Brooklin, Ontario, and daughters Philinda MASTERS (Susan POWER) and Elizabeth MASTERS of Toronto. Grandmother of Patrick O'LEARY (Edmonton,) Caitlin O'LEARY (Toronto) and Spencer ALLEN (Toronto.) Great-grandmother of Kirsten and Keira O'LEARY (Edmonton) and Madeleine Patricia O'LEARY (Toronto). Only child of Katharine Sprague (BABBITT) HOBBS and John Wilberforce HOBBS, Kay was born in Toronto on May 4, 1912 and attended the Bishop Strachan School and the University of Toronto, where she was an early graduate in physiotherapy. She was involved over the years in such diverse groups as the Garden Club of Toronto, the Visiting Homemakers Association, the Toronto Ladies Club/York Club, the Needlework Guild of Canada, the Herb Society of America, Abbeyfield Houses of Toronto (founding member), and many others. In recent years, Kay concentrated on the volunteer committee of the Royal Ontario Museum, and spent a term on the museum's Board of Trustees. In 2003 she received a Caring Canadians award from the Governor General. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Christie Gardens. A memorial service will be held in Grace Church-on-the-Hill, (Lonsdale and Russell Hill Roads) on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 2 o'clock, with interment afterwards at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In her 74th year, passed peacefully at her home in Kemble, the village that she loved. Beloved daughter of the late Wilbur and Nettie TAILOR/TAYLOR (née McKINLAY.) Loving mother of Kelly BABCOCK and his wife, Geri, Chris BABCOCK and his partner, Deanna MARTIN and Danny BABCOCK and his wife, Lois O'NEILL. Devoted granny of Gennie-Wren and Nicholas. Held in the hearts of her sister, Beverley DAVIS, of Tofield, Alberta and her brother, Donald TAILOR/TAYLOR, of Chatsworth. Predeceased by her in-laws, Delphine TAILOR/TAYLOR and Lloyd DAVIS and her nephew, Jim DAVIS. Good friend of Susan MARSHALL, of Kemble and Chasity STEWARD/STEWART/STUART, of Cambridge. Margaret spent her childhood on the family farms in Kemble. As a young mother she was in the forefront of the drives to build the new arena and to convert the hall into a Senior and Community Centre. She helped to produce Christmas Concerts, was a member of the Kemble Women's Institute, taught gardening for the 4-H Club, took her turn running the snack bar at the old arena and cleaning the church. She drove rural mail and was the Post Mistress for many years. She, along with her mother and others, researched and wrote the Chronicles of Kemble. Her love of the past was evident in her wealth of stories and her respect for old things led her to a second career as a respected antique dealer. Family and Friends may call at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 - 14th Street West, Owen Sound (519-376-7492) on Tuesday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Margaret TAILOR/TAYLOR will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 at 1: 00 p.m. with Rev. Deborah MURRAY officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Kemble Arena or the charity of your choice as your expression of sympathy.

BENNETT, Robert “Bob” Cecil
Peacefully at his Tobermory residence on Sunday, October 28th, 2007. Robert Cecil BENNETT in his 62nd year. Loving husband and best friend of the former Virginia BABCOCK for 37 years. Cherished father of Stephanie, and Brian, both of Toronto. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Hannah. Bob was a teacher for 31 years in St. Catharines and area, retiring as a principal in 1999. Family invite Friends to join with them in celebrating Bob's life at the Tobermory United Church, Tobermory on Thursday, November 1st, 2007 at 2 o'clock. Cremation has taken place. Of Cape Croker, peacefully with her loving family at her side at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Friday, December 8th, 2007. The former Vivian ELLIOT/ELLIOTT at the age of 48 years. Loving wife and best friend of Dennis for more than 10 years. Much loved mother of Wawaskones MURRELL, and Nungones MAO and her husband Darren, all of Toronto. Treasured grandma of Daunis MAO, Dre MAO and Ocean ELLIOT/ELLIOTT. Cherished sister of Victoria BOSTIC and her husband Ralph, of Round Lake Beach, Illinois; and Veronica SMITH, of Cape Croker. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and many Friends. Predeceased by her parents Merle SMITH and Eulah ELLIOT/ELLIOTT. Suddenly at the Hamilton General Hospital on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the age of 45. Beloved wife and bestfriend of Rick. Fun-loving, adored mother of Colin, Lauren and Brooke. Predeceased by her parents Mel and Jean MERRILL. Cherished sister of Rick MERRILL and his wife Debbie of Peterborough and Kevin MERRILL and his wife Debbie of Trenton. Lovingly remembered by her in-laws H.D. and M.J. BABINGTON, brother-in-law Bret BABINGTON and his wife Patti, and sister-in-law Michelle WALTON and her husband Tom. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, Friends and the many "sisters" Karen adopted throughout her life. Peacefully, passed away at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital in Kitchener on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 in her 81st year. Dear mother of the late Helen LOWES (2006) and John BABOI of Cambridge. Predeceased by her cousin Nicolae CAVACHI. Grandmother of Heidi ELLIOT/ELLIOTT and her husband Martin of Waterloo. Survived by her dear Friends Nancy and Eric LOMAX of St. George, Maria SCICIU and Ileana JOICI, both of Toronto. Elizabeth owned Cambridge Restaurant, was a partner with her former husband in Baboi Real Estate and was in charge of the Bridal Department at Bramer's in Toronto for many years. Elizabeth was a resident at the Hellenic Home for The Aged in Toronto for 15 years. Private funeral services will be held at Prospect Cemetery, Toronto.
