Beloved partner, companion and special friend of Isabelle GATEMAN of Hanover. Loved father of Cindy and her husband Terry DAVIDSON of Walkerton, Joe and his wife Laurie of Smithville and Myra and her husband Kevin SUMMERS of Hanover. Loving grandfather to Alicia and her husband Mike McINTYRE, Jamie,▼ Jake▼ and Scarlett DAVIDSON, Michaela, Tyler, Nikolas, Jason and Meaghan MALONEY, K.J., Colton, Bayden and Raina SUMMERS. Survived by brothers and sisters Leonard (Anne) MALONEY, Kay FULLER, Jim (Carol) MALONEY, Betty JOYCE, Terry MALONEY, Donna MALONEY, Dan MALONEY and Debbie (Don) DWULIT. Will be sadly missed by Frankie MALONEY and her partner Steve SCOTT, several nieces and nephews, the 11th Ave. Crew and many dear Friends. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary MALONEY, brothers-in-law Chuck FULLER, Ed JOYCE, Bill McDONALD and daughter-in-law Dione MALONEY.
Bernie was born March 21, 1940 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. His family moved to the Hamilton area in the mid 1980s, where he and Isabelle ran a successful restaurant, "Isabelle's Takeout," for many years. Through the years he volunteered with Hanover Minor Hockey, the Hanover Barons C Hockey Team and the Hanover Legion. He has been actively involved in municipal, provincial and federal politics and loved to travel, walk, sing and enjoy the Friendship and conversations of family and Friends around his kitchen table. “He never met a stranger.&rdquo
A funeral service was held Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover immediately followed by a celebration of his life at the Hanover Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hanover and District Hospital Foundation or HARC Industries Incorporated.

VALLANCE, Murray Allan Jr. (1917-2007)
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Murray VALLANCE. Dad passed away in his home Sunday, June 17, 2007 with his family by his side. He fought hard to maintain his dignity and quality of life, but after a year and a half of failing health due to a heart condition, he succumbed to his illness. He wanted to pass in his own home with his wife and children and grand children with him. He took his leave on his own terms and waited until Fathers day to say goodbye. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario on March 28, 1917 to Murray Allan VALLANCE and Phyllis Marie McINTYRE. He had one brother, Walter Henry VALLANCE who pre-deceased him on June 16, 2006. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and after the war he came home and moved to Toronto in 1950. He became a Chartered Accountant and eventually went to work for Ontario Hydro where he met his future wife Theresa O'CONNOR. He is survived by his wife Theresa, his son Andrew and his daughters Kathleen BOICE and Carolyne McMAHON. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his brother-in-law Thomas O'CONNOR, his son-in-laws Richard BOICE and Quinn McMAHON and daughter-in-law Rachel VALLANCE. Dad has six beautiful grand children, Maria-Rose, Micaela, Amelia, Saffron, Olivia and Max whom he adored immensely and was very proud to have had enrich his last years on this earth. Dad loved classic literature and poetry and we wish to leave this little poem as a parting thought&hellip
No one knew that day
God was going to call your name
In life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same
It broke our hearts to lose you
For you did not go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home
You left us beautiful memories
Your love is still our guide
And though we cannot see you

Passed away in Kingston on July 22, 2007, surrounded by her four children. She was predeceased by H.D. "Hank", her husband for 52 wonderful years. Ruth was the loved and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Joe (and Chris) and their children Andrew, Beth, and Peter; Mary (and Phil) PROSPERO and their children Joe and Robert; Susan (and Phil) MORBEY and their children Naomi (and Jessee) RODRIGUEZ (and their children Elowyn and Caladh,) David, Eddie, and Andrew; and Tom (and his former wife Mary-Jean McINTYRE) and their children Douglas, Anne-Marie, and Spencer. She was the sister of Ross and Dick SINGLETON and was predeceased by her brother Pat and parents Omer and Naomi. Born in 1924, Ruth was raised in Saskatchewan, obtained her B.Sc. (U. Manitoba) and moved to Ontario. She loved the cottage, playing bridge, cryptic crosswords, and reading, and was known for her high intelligence, witty correspondence, and thoughtfulness. She will be sadly missed by her family and many Friends. Passed away of natural causes peacefully at her home surrounded by her family: daughters Lyn WESTWOOD, Martha SIFTON (Mike) and son, Jamie SIFTON (Suzanne.) She was predeceased by her first husband, Clifford McLean SIFTON in 1953, her second, Peter WOOD in 1987 and her eldest son John (Jack) SIFTON in 1989. Also by her parents William Jacob (1980) and Alexandra (1991) McINTYRE, brother Jack (World War 2) and sister Peggy (1981),
She will be missed by her stepchildren David (Nancy), Alastair and Jennifer WOOD and her grand and step-grandchildren, Ashton and Whitney WESTWOOD, Tiffany (Jason) SIFTON and Joshua, Daniel and Thea WOOD. She will also be missed by her sister Mary Lou (Jim) and their children Jamie and Mary, as well as by the children of her sister Peggy; Sandra, Sue (John) and Shelly.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, step-mother and friend, and her magnetic personality drew a wide circle around her during her years in Saskatoon, Toronto, Greenwich and Darien, Connecticut. Each summer, she was the much-loved chatelaîne at her beloved Whitney Point in the Thousand Islands. Her generous heart will be remembered by us all.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Tuesday, October 16 at 2: 00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 354 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto. (At her request, cremation will have taken place before the service.) The family will welcome all Friends at a celebration of Gerry's life at her home after the service.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the National Ballet of Canada in her honour will be appreciated.
