LAFRENIERE, Patricia (née HEWITT)
At the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, on Monday, March 6, 2006 surrounded by her loving family. Patricia LAFRENIERE, has gone with the Lord; age 59, of Saint Thomas. Beloved daughter of Norma and Stanley HEWITT of Sarnia, loving sister of Sheila FOSTER of New Brunswick, Linda and Shirley LAFRENIERE of British Columbia, and Dennis and Richard LAFRENIERE. Survived by niece Cecile McEACHEN of Sarnia, and step-sister of Doreen SOIDL of Bright's Grove, Ontario. Patricia is also survived by several family members in British Columbia, Manitoba, and California. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Bright's Grove. HARRISON, Clarence▼ Elroy▼
Clarence Elroy HARRISON passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Rockwood Terrace, Durham.
Elroy was born May 29, 1921 on Lot 3, Conc. 16, Proton Township to the late Clarence and Agnes Jane "Jean" (WEIR) HARRISON. He will be missed by his only sister, Agnes McEACHERN of Durham.
In his youth he worked on the home farm with his father and Uncle Phillip who farmed across the road until enlisting in the army during World War 2. He married Eva Florence COLLINS in Toronto November 25, 1944.
They purchased Lot 3, Concession 17 where they farmed and raised a family of three sons, Doug, Ken and Lorne. They were members of the Salem United Church until it closed in 1966. During the 50's and 60's, Elroy was a well-respected member of the Swinton Park Local of the Ontario Farmers Union. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 285, Dundalk for 42 years.
His hobby was raising and training racehorses and the family enjoyed many trips to the track where Elroy and Eva made Friends with many Harness Racing families from all over southern Ontario. They both loved a good game of euchre and the Saturday night dances at the Durham Legion.
Eva passed away in November 1991 and Elroy continued farming until his retirement. In January 2003, he went to live with his son Lorne and moved to Rockwood Terrace in March 2004.
Left to mourn are his sons Doug (Mary Belle), Ken (Katie) and Lorne (Liz). He is sadly missed by his grandchildren Julie (Tyler) BEINGESSNER, Mark HARRISON, Krista HARRISON and Kevin (Cheryl) HARRISON and his great-grandchildren Cole and Cooper BEINGESSNER and Ethan and Teryn HARRISON. He is remembered by his brother-in-law, Bill (Berny) COLLINS, his nieces and nephews and many Weir and HARRISON cousins and their families.
Visitation was held at the Fawcett-McEachern Funeral Home, Wednesday evening, December 6. The funeral service and committal was conducted in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 7 with Rev. David NICHOLSON officiating and Gayle MAGWOOD, organist. His son Ken compiled and read the eulogy.
The pallbearers were Ross McEACHERN, Wallace HARRISON, Anson McCABE, Michael SCHERER Kevin HARRISON and Mark HARRISON. The flower bearers were Krista HARRISON (the family spray,) Cheryl HARRISON, Ethan HARRISON, Lorna SCHERER, Joan TANAKA, Linda TOPPING, Nancy COLLINS, Louise COLLINS, Claire McEACHERN and her friend, Eton. Following the funeral, Friends and family gathered at the Royal Canadian Legion, Durham for a social time and luncheon, which was catered by members of the Legion and their associates.
Interment will take place at McNeil Cemetery, Priceville in the spring of 2007.

Woman dies in fire
Fire Marshal's office investigating blaze

The Ontario Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of a house fire near Mount Forest that claimed the life of a 39-year-old Chatham, Ontario, woman.
Cindy TEBO was killed after she ran back inside her rented farmhouse to try to rescue her five-year-old grand_son T.J., who family friend Julio RAMIREZ said was visiting with his aunt.
RAMIREZ said T.J. was safely outside the house with his aunt when TEBO ran back up the stairs.
TEBO's common-law husband Bruce LAMB is in hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
It is believed the fire began in a guest bedroom in the home on Normanby Township Road 63, northwest of Mount Forest, West Grey Police Sgt. Rob THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON said in a statement issued Friday.
A child raised an alarm, which alerted other family members.
An atopsy performed Friday determined TEBO died of smoke inhalation and carbon monixide poisioning, a police news release said.
Firefighters from the North Wellington Fire Service, based in Mount Forest and Harriston, and from the West Grey service in Ayton responded to the alarm that came in about 8: 30 a.m. Thursday.
An Ontario Fire Marshal's investigator was at the scene Friday.
Police and fire marshal's investigators expect to study the fire scene for "several days," THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON's statement said.
Fire Chief Ron MacEACHERN of the North Wellington Fire Service said the building was "totally engulfed" when firefighters arrived.
MacEACHERN said he could not identify the victims of the fire.
The size of the fire and water supply problems at the rural location required a response from all three area fire departments, he said.

Passed away peacefully amid family at Parkwood Hospital in London on July 5, 2006. Anne was deeply loved by daughters Judith KAVOSI of Chicago, Janice Kavosi STEWARD/STEWART/STUART of California and Marianne MacEACHERN of London; son-in-law Dan MacEACHERN; grandchildren D.J. (Kristy,) Andrew and Lauren; nephews William (Marilyn) CHATHAM and Robert (Luda) CHATOFF; nieces Barbara (Paul) LEMIUEX and Alice (Barry) CHADWICK. With determined independence, Anne maintained her home in Woodstock following the death of her husband Andrew in 1978 until she moved to The Gainsborough in London a decade ago. In both cities Anne cherished a wide circle of dear Friends and neighbours. The family is very grateful for their caring and support as well as that provided by the medical teams and personal assistants who helped Anne enjoy life to the fullest. Throughout her 89 years, Anne shared her good cheer and kind words with many. As an active Woodstock General Hospital Auxiliary volunteer, Anne visited patients with the gift cart, created flower arrangements for the gift shop, and made home visits to individuals using Lifeline. The Auxiliary recognized her efforts with Local Life and Provincial Life Memberships and its Outstanding Service Award. Anne also was awarded Honorary Membership in the former Havelock Chapter Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire. Following her move to London, Anne continued to volunteer by tutoring students in the Public Library After-School Program. Friends and family will be received from 11: 30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1: 00 p.m. on Monday, July 10 at the R.D. DUNLOP, Harry Lewis
83, of North Sydney passed away at Harbourview Facility in Sydney Mines on Monday, September 18, 2006. Born in Boularderie East, Victoria County, Harry was the son of the late Archibald Roderick and Amelia (THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON) DUNLOP. He resided in the Pier for many years, working as an auto body repairman. When Harry moved to London, Ontario in 1969, he took his painting experience to General Steel Wares, spraying the appliances as they came off the production line. Harry returned to Cape Breton in 2003 to live out the remainder of his life. Harry was a veteran of World War 2 serving with the Merchant Marine and was a former member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 263 London, Ontario. He was the dear father of Wayne (Brenda) of Thamesford, Ontario; Sylvia JOHNSTON (Bill) of Long Point, Nova Scotia; Harriette BOUTILIER (Floyd) of Bras d'Or, Bill (Jane) of London, Ontario. Harry was the dear Papa of 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
