Roberta. A role model from birth to death. Intelligent, loving,
kind, compassionate, socially aware, and community benefacting.
Mildred visualized her dream family and built it; her dream home
and furnished it; her dream life and lived it; her dream Friends
and kept them; her dream community and served it. Sunday school
superintendent, deanery/diocesan secretary, Life Member St. Luke's
Women's Auxiliary and Chancel Guild; Paul Harris International
Fellow (Rotary); fundraiser, instructor, board of directors Young
Men's Christian Association (Sault Ste. Marie); Girl Guides of
Canada; Business Education Director and Chair: Subject head Committee
for Sault and District Secondary Schools; community executive councils
and patron; and, with Edward, Northern Ontario Badminton championships.
Mildred leaves behind her two younger sisters, Helen Margaret
MacLEOD
(Ken) of Evanston, Illinois and Muriel 'Judy' Grace
GIERKE
(Garry) of Milan, Michigan. She also leaves George Constable,
steadfast, blessed friend who brightened her days, plying her
with companionship, corny jokes, and every possible snack. No
distance, no weather kept him from this chosen round. Anyone
within focus of her Double Power Beam of laughing green eyes
and dazzling smile were instantly Mildredized. However weakened
in her last days, Mildred's radiance never dulled a watt. The
family wishes to thank Doctors Abdullah, Cavanagh, and Morra.
Private family funeral service and cremation. Memorial service
in Spring, 2007 at St. Luke's Cathedral, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

At Extendicare, Port Stanley, on Saturday, May 20, 2006, in her
94th year. Born in Sheffield, England, on June 5, 1912. She emigrated
to Montreal in 1921 and resided with her young family in Trois
Rivieres, Quebec and Toronto, Ontario, before moving to Dunnville
in 1949 where she lived most of her life. She moved to Saint Thomas
in 1999 and from there to Port Stanley in 2001. Devoted wife
of the late Reginald George

Predeceased by her
first born son Peter (1962) and her brother John (1980). Beloved
mother of Ron and his wife Joan (New Zealand); Ken and his wife
Pat (Port Stanley) and Ross and his wife Dale (Ottawa). Proud
grandmother of Kim, Andrew, Jane, Colin, John, Wayne, Christopher,
Lisa, Paul, and Aaron. Seven great-grandchildren will miss their
Gran-Gran; Devon, Connor, Ethan, Spencer, Liam, Jada and Jewel.
A wonderful homemaker, an avid golfer and keen traveller until
her declining years, she touched so many in special ways -- truly
a remarkable and gracious lady. A private family service will
be held at the Ballard Minor Funeral Home, 315 Broad St. E.,
Dunnville, Ontario, on Thursday May 25, 2006. Interment to follow
at Riverside Cemetery, Dunnville. In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation, would be appreciated. The family is grateful to the
staffs of Metcalfe Gardens in Saint Thomas, Extendicare in Port
Stanley, Saint Thomas/Elgin General Hospital as well as her Friends
in Dunnville for their years of care and support.

Passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2006, in his 80th year.
Loving husband to Violet, devoted father to Sharon, Patricia,
Nancy and Susan, respected father-in-law to Paul, Egils, Stewart
and Brian, adored grandfather to Paul Jr. and his partner Rose,
Laura, Christopher, Alison, Jonathan, proud great-grandfather
to Liam and his sister Katie, and cherished brother to Lucille.
He was also an uncle, a mentor and a friend to many - a true
gentleman. He valued his special Friendship with Linda with whom
he shared a love of family, spirited conversations and a joy
of travel. Born in Port Medway, Nova Scotia on April 27th, 1926,
Irv was proud of his humble beginnings and his careers at Canadian
Press and the Canadian Bankers' Association. Irv had a passion
for the English language, stamps, family genealogy, e-Bay, slot
machines and a good rum and ginger. His quick smile, rapier wit
and gentle sense of humour will be missed by all whose lives
