Last of the Magical Parets of Barbara and Roberta. A role model from birth to death. Intelligent, loving, kind, compassionate, socially aware, and community benefacting. Mildred visualized her dream family and built it; her dream home and furnished it; her dream life and lived it; her dream Friends and kept them; her dream community and served it. Marie); Girl Guides of Canada; Business Education Director and Chair: Subject head Committee for Sault and District Secondary Schools; community executive councils and patron; and, with Edward, Northern Ontario Badminton championships. Mildred leaves behind her two younger sisters, Helen Margaret MacLEOD (Ken) of Evanston, Illinois and Muriel 'Judy' Grace GIERKE (Garry) of Milan, Michigan. She also leaves George Constable, steadfast, blessed friend who brightened her days, plying her with companionship, corny jokes, and every possible snack. No distance, no weather kept him from this chosen round. Anyone within focus of her Double Power Beam of laughing green eyes and dazzling smile were instantly Mildredized. However weakened in her last days, Mildred's radiance never dulled a watt. The family wishes to thank Doctors Abdullah, Cavanagh, and Morra. Private family funeral service and cremation. Memorial service in Spring, 2007 at St. Luke's Cathedral, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. In her name, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Algoma Residential Community Hospice, The Boys and Girls Club of Canada Foundation, The Children's Literacy Fund or other children's charity of your choice.
