John has been the Minister of Oriole York Mills United Church
since 2001. While living in Nova Scotia, he was a founding member
of the Nova Scotia Commission on Drug Dependency, First Chair
of the local Sydney Commission on Drug Dependency, Chair of the
Regional Board, representative to the Nova Scotia Provincial
Commission and awarded the Sydney Citizen of the Year in 1973.
After returning to Toronto, John was a founding member of the
Woodgreen Red Door Family Shelter. Board member: Federal Government
Order in Council Appointment to the Immigration and Refugee Board
from 1994-1998. He will be remembered for his generosity, integrity,
sense of humour, love for baseball, unselfish care and concern
for so many, and his tireless commitment to improving the lives
of those less fortunate. The family wish to thank the Oncology
team at the Toronto East General Hospital and the staff of the
Sunnybrook Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion.

A wonderfully full and long life came peacefully to an end after
a brief illness on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, Mary Helen
BRESETTE
of Sarnia died peacefully at Bluewater Health Mitton Street Site,
surrounded by her family. Mary was born in Sarnia in January 1911 and
had lived in her family home her entire life. She worked in the
Prestolite, starting on the line and moving to the office where
she worked until her retirement in 1977. Aunt Mary enjoyed her

Force), secretary, and beer salesman. He retired as Chairman
of the Board of La Brasserie O'Keefe in 1982. Yet it was as a
musician, a poet, and a lyricist that he truly expressed his
love of life, family and people. Throughout life's challenges,
music was his source of strength and inspiration. He strove to
bring the joy and comfort of music to each of us. Relatives and

The Cole Family announces with sorrow the death of Jon Wilfred
COLE of Cobalt. Mr.
COLE passed away surrounded by his loving
family at the Temiskaming Hospital, New Liskeard on Sunday, January
1, 2006 at the age of 80 years. Jon had a Country and Western
music group called "Jon Cole and Friends". The group would often
play in seniors' homes and entertain the residents and this gave
Jon the greatest pleasure. He loved to see the audience tapping
their feet or clapping their hands to his music. Jon was also
a member of the Kiwanis Club which does a lot of fundraising
for various charities in the area. Jon was born at Cobalt on
