The family of the late Glenn McLACHLIN wishes to say "Thank You" for the cards and donations as expressions of sympathy. At London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital on Monday, May 15th, 2006, Lt. Colonel Melvin John Ehret HAMILTON (R) of London in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Bessie Irene (AGAR) HAMILTON. Dear father of Judith Irene of Timmins, and Major Beverly Anne of London. Loved by his special granddaughter Julia and chosen granddaughter Emilie. Also loved by many nieces and nephews. Colonel HAMILTON was commissioned as an officer of the Salvation Army by the late General Eva BOOTH on June 8, 1939. He served as a Salvation Army Officer in various appointments throughout Canada until he, with his wife, retired in 1984. Following retirement the Hamiltons resided in London. Friends will be received by the family from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, and 1 hour prior to the service, at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, May 18th at 11 a.m. with Major Gary VENABLES and Major Larry BRIDGER officiating. Private interment at a later date in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London. Passed away peacefully at Sunset Manor, December 12, 2006 at the age of 82 years. Sya, predeceased by parents Willem and Jansje DEKREEK and son Arie (Andy) VERWEY, will be cherished and sadly missed by her husband of 58 years, Willem of Wasaga Beach, her sister, Adrie v/d VENDELOO and brother, Willem DEKREEK both of Holland; her children Bill and Marlene, Wasaga Beach, Marinus and Laurie, North Bay, Joyce and Ivan, Collingwood, Rick and Lynne, Thornhill, Mary-Ann and Tony, Calgary. Sya was a proud and loving Oma to Andrew, Craig, Melissa, Klaas, Laura, Ameila, Tasha and Tania, and will be missed by best friend Adrie Reitsma, Friends and staff of Sunset Manor. Sadly missed by 14 grandchildren. Dear brother of Sjoerd VENEMA of Holland. Peter was born in Holland on May 19, 1926, the son of the late Sake and Riemkje FEENSTRA) VENEMA. He came to Canada in 1953 and was a retired building contractor. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, past choir member and served on the Church Council. Peter was a former Chairman of the London District Secondary School Board and had served on the Heritage Foundation. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Friday afternoon and then to the First Christian Reformed Church for funeral service at 1: 00 p.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Saint Thomas Community Christian School and the London District Christian Secondary School.

Dear brother-in-law of Jean KIELSTRA of Saint Thomas. Dearly loved grandfather of Jeremy, John, Beth, Joel, Paula, Brad and Billy. Cecil was born in Surhuisterveen, Holland on December 18, 1925, the son of the late Hendrik and Geeske KIELSTRA. Cecil served in the Dutch Army; served on the Board of the Saint Thomas Community Christian School and on Council at the First Christian Reformed Church longtime member of the Saint Thomas Male Choir Crescendo. In his 93rd year, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Formerly of London, Ontario. Predeceased by his wife Violet and son Edward. Loving father of Suzanne HEIGH and her husband Larry of Sicamous, British Columbia and Norm BARBER and his wife Neva of Port Burwell, Ontario. Loving stepfather to Freida ENDEAN, Betty VENNER, Doug KILBOURNE, Dorothy DALE and the late Johnny SLADE. Sadly missed by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Norm was born in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England on May 5, 1914 and immigrated to London, Ontario in 1919. He was a proud veteran of World War 2 and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in England, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was formerly employed with the Canadian National Railway. Cremation will be held at Salmon Arm, B.C.

After a long and courageous battle, Maria passed away peacefully on February 28th, 2006, at the William Osler Health Centre at the age of 77. Dearly beloved wife of Sebastiano for 54 years. Loving mother of son Louie and his wife Vivian, son Robert and his wife Catarina. Maria's loving memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren, Vanessa, Tonia, Martin, Brenden and Melissa. We will all miss the twinkle in her eye, her wit and her ever present sense of humour. She will also be sadly missed by relatives and Friends in her birthplace of Taviano, Lecce, in Italy. Born in Toronto April 16, 1926 and son of the late Stanley Thomas and Isabel WOOLLINGS. Predeceased by his brother Stanley James, his sisters Violette PHILLIPS and Beatrice ANSTICE. Norm attended Normal Model School, Harbord Collegiate and received a B.A.Sc. in 1948 and a M.A.Sc. in 1950 from the University of Toronto. He retired in 1984 after 31 years with Alchem/Nalco Inc. Cremation has taken place. In honour of Norm's request, there will be no funeral service but there will be visitation at Smith's Funeral Home 1167 Guelph Line, (one stoplight north of Queen Elizabeth Way) Burlington (905-632-3333) on Friday, June 2, 2006 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. www.smithsfh.com

Peacefully at Marion Villa on Wednesday May 3, 2006, in her 85th year, Elizabeth BRUSHETT, London, Ontario. Loving wife of Alex BRUSHETT. Predeceased by her mother Mae PETRIE, father Daniel PETRIE, sister Camilla KING (Sis) and brother Daniel PETRIE. Elizabeth is survived by her sister Effie (Evelyn) CLEMENTS and niece Lorna YORKE and husband Andrew. Also survived by her niece Renae VENTUROLI and children. Elizabeth has been a resident of London for 2½ years, after moving here from Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia. She will be fondly missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Mass will be said at Holy Cross Church on Saturday May 13th at 10: 30 a.m., officiated by Father LUCIO. A burial cremation will take place in July at Saint Anne's Cemetery, Glace Bay, Nova Scotia.
