and Lauren. She will be greatly missed by all the extended family
and Friends whose lives she touched deeply. Private family service
will be held in the chapel at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home,
166 Main St. N. (Markham Rd.), Markham on Sunday at 2 p.m. Cremation.

The family of Hieke (Hilda)
KIELSTRA are sad to announce her
passing on Monday, January 30, 2006. Hieke was in her 74th year
and was predeceased by husbands Hank
KONING and Peter
KIELSTRA,
children Nina and Terry
KONING and brother Bill
TWYNSTRA.
She
is survived by, and will be sadly missed by son Jeff, Phyllis
and Douglas
KONING, daughter Patricia, Steve, Peter and Joey
LACHOWSKY; and daughter Glenda, Lindsay and Matthew
BARENDREGT.
She will also be missed by grandchildren Kevin, Ryan and Terry
KONING and their mother Eileen and son-in-law Steve
BARENDREGT.
Hieke will also be sadly missed by her sister Ena

George and Sid
TWYNSTRA, many in-laws, and nieces
and nephews. Hieke's life began in Holland in 1932. After the
second world war, she was first in her family to immigrate to
Canada and by the mid 1950's all of her family had joined her.
One of her proudest moments was becoming a Canadian citizen.
She spent most of her life in Saint Thomas as a wife and mother,
raising a family. As an Registered Nurse Anesthetist, she was
employed by the Wilson Nursing Home and the Saint Thomas Psychiatric
Hospital where she loved taking care of her patients. Resting
at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Friday
afternoon and then to the First Christian Reformed Church, Elm
Street for funeral service at 1: 00 p.m. Interment to follow in
Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday
from 7-9 p.m. and at the Church on Friday from 12: 00-1:00 p.m.
Remembrances may be made to the Canadian National Institute for
the Blind.
