In his 74th year, slipped away to meet his maker on April 3,
2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his
mother Isobel Reid Hall
LINESS, in 1974 and his father Edward
(Scotty) Liness in 1975. Jim is survived by his brother Ian John

(Vicki) of Courtice, and great-nieces Holly, Brooke, Tara, Jill,
Breanne and Nicholas, a brand new great-nephew. Also will be
sadly missed by his doctor, friend and baseball buddy, Tom
BACHER.
Jim, a sportsman and a gentleman, and a great teacher of sports
was affiliated with pro and semi-pro baseball in the Toronto
area for many years as a player, coach and manager. He also was
affiliated with the Harness Racing Association, owning, training
and driving in Toronto, Barrie, Peterborough, Orangeville and
in the States until a training accident cut his career short.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, April 8th
at 11: 00 a.m. in the Carfrae Chapel of the Mount Pleasant Mausoleum
and Cemetery, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, (enter the Yonge
or Mt. Pleasant entrance and follow the solid yellow line). In
lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Society.
