Of Saint Thomas, Ontario passed away in his home on May 29, 2006 in his 72nd year. Loving husband of Sheila GREGORY- VANTOL of Saint Thomas. Peter was born in Hofddaorp, Holland, son of the late Theodorus VAN TOL and Cornelia (née POUW) VAN TOL. Peter immigrated to Canada in 1960 and became a Canadian Citizen in 1965. Loving helpful step-father of Harold GREGORY (Carol,) Pauline NICHOLLS- TRISKA (Chris), Cathy LIRETTE (Dave), Michael GREGORY (Janice,) Darren (Woody,) Gregory (Krystle,) Tara REGO (Dave.) Proud Poppa of Nathan, Chrissy-Lynn, Christopher, Corey, Stevie-Lynn, Jessica, Shawn, James, Shawna, Lina, David and Dylan. Dear brother of Gys of British Columbia, Canada; Han, Leo, Cilia, Bep, Wil, An, Cor, Fraak and predeceased by brothers Ben, Theo, and sister Thea, all of the Netherlands. VAN TOL, Hubert, PhD
At age 46, Huub was killed when a truck hit his bicycle on his way to work on April 20, 2006. Born on September 20, 1959 in Maastricht, The Netherlands. He leaves behind his loving wife Monica SEGER- VAN TOL, and his beloved children Helena, Luke, and Nicholas, his parents Anneke and Hubert VAN TOL and his brother Rob. He will be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Marianne SEGER. He will be fondly remembered by all his Seger and Rhamey in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. Hubert was a Professor and Canadian Research Chair in Neurobiology at the University of Toronto. He received his PhD at the University of Utrecht, where he and Monica met. A funeral service will be held at Loretto Abbey, 101 Mason Blvd at 1: 30 p.m. on Thursday, April 27th. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the H.H.M. van Tol Fund for research at Neuroscience Canada, or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (the Frank Seger Memorial Fund) or to Feed the Children.

Born in England, son of the late Frederick BAKER and the former Maude LAVERS. Terry served with the Royal Canadian Regiment (1st Battalion) from 1940-1945. He and his wife Breda farmed in the Embro area for 45 years, retiring to Stratford. Beloved husband of Brigid (BREDA) BAKER whom he married as a war bride in England May 28, 1945. She predeceased him November 9, 2005. Loving father of Deirdre and her husband Grant MONTEITH, Michael BAKER, Gregory BAKER and his wife Martha, David BAKER and his wife Debbie. Lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife he was predeceased by a sister Betty TOLMAN and her husband Ted. Family will receive Friends at the W.G. Beloved mother of Nancy (Wisconsin) and Barbara (Singhampton, Ontario) Margaret will be missed by her 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. With hearts saddened by loss, but overflowing with beautiful memories, the family of Elva A. WILLMOTT announces her peaceful passing at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, on Monday, May 1, 2006. Beloved wife of the late Doctor G.W. (Bill) WILLMOTT (1993.) She was the cherished mother of Sonya WILLMOTT of Strathroy and Robert (Bob) and his wife Karen of Parkhill and loving grandmother of three grand_sons, Jeffrey of Thunder Bay, Christopher of London, and Joe and his wife Lindsay of Guelph. Born June 2, 1910, a daughter of the late Roy and Mary (SMITHRIM) DEMARAY, she was predeceased by two brothers, Clarence and Stan and two sisters, Nellie and Marie. Elva brought joy to the lives of those who knew her, through her kindness, generosity, zest for life, and her strong faith, and will be sadly missed by her caring relatives and the many Friends she made throughout lifes journey. On September 10, 2006 at London Health Sciences Centre, in her 64th year, Betty Vina BAST of Strathroy, beloved wife of Glenn and fondly remembered by her sons, Perry (Bev) of Strathroy, Greg (Brenda) of Clifford and Gary (Debbie) of Clifford. Betty is survived by her sisters Lois BART of Stratford, and Shirley GILMORE (Cliff) of Peterborough and her brother Gary (Betty) McTAGGART of Kincardine. She is predeceased by her brother Norman, her brother-in-law Jack and her nephew Mickey. Betty will be sadly missed by her 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Of Aylmer at Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in her 80th year. Reunited after a 20 year wait with her true love Bruce (1986). Helen will be forever loved and missed by her sons Merle WARD of Aylmer and Scott WARD and partner Shannon JUKES of Aylmer, a grand_son Brody, and by her other family Dennis, Annette and Brandon DUNN as well as Cork, Joan and Jeff WARD. Also survived by Bruce and Penny TOLMIE, Skip and Nina DUNN, Steve and Doreen DUNN, Glenda and Jack McKENZIE and families. Born in Borneo on May 3, 1927 daughter of the late Merle and Margaret (GLEASON) VOLWAY. Predeceased by her sister Cathy ROBINSON and her nephew David ROBINSON. Helen worked at Canadian National Railway for 22 years and delivered Meals on Wheels. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2006 at 1: 00 p.m. at the Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer. TOLMIE, Hélène Louise (née LADNER)
Died peacefully on Tuesday, 21 March, 2006 at Crofton Manor, Vancouver, aged 92. Daughter of Leon and Jeanne LADNER, Hélène was born in Vancouver, on 2 February 1914. She was in the first Grade One class at Prince of Wales Public School in Shaughnessy. In 1931-2 she completed in one year the two-year art program at the Ecole Bisschoffseim, in Brussels while her family was living there. Subsequently, she attended the Vancouver School of Art and Design. In 1936 she married Ross TOLMIE and they moved to Ottawa where Ross worked for the Department of Finance until the end of the Second World War. He then established his own law practice. They had six children. As well as being a superb mother, Hélène volunteered in a number of organizations - the Mother's Union at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, the Citizen's Committee on Children (art program with the Ottawa Playground Committee), the Andrew Fleck Childcare Centre, Rockcliffe Park Conservation Committee, and the Ottawa School of Art and Design. She loved to cross-country ski in the Gatineau and to spend summer days swimming in MacKay Lake and at the Five Lakes Fishing Club with the family. In later years she renewed her interest in art creating, among other works of art, a large tapestry of the geology of MacKay Lake, which now hangs in Rockcliffe Park Community Hall. Hélène and Ross moved to Vancouver in 1989. She was predeceased by her husband Ross and by her sisters Bobsie POTTINGER and Yvonne KILLAM. Hélène will be greatly missed by her brother, Thomas E. LADNER, by many nieces and nephews and by her six children - Anne (Connla WOOD), John (Judy), Ken (Patsy), Philip (Flo), Daniel and Lulu (John LEATHLEY,) as well as by her twelve grandchildren: Jeanne, Sara and Emily TOLMIE; Nicole and Fraser TOLMIE; Derek, Natalie and Carroll TOLMIE; Lizanne TOLMIE; Peter, Steven and Ross LEATHLEY; and by her six great-grandchildren: Megan and Grace TOLMIE, Lucy and MacLeod PILLING, Katelyn and Alexander WEBB. She was a marvelous mother, a loving wife, a gifted artist and an inspiration to many people. The family would like to thank Mum's wonderful caregivers: Pia, Lori, Myrna, Lourdes, Maridel, Mariesil, Marivec, and Arlene, as well as the staff at Crofton Manor.
