MacQUEEN, John Colin
It is with great sorrow that the extended family announce John's passing after a brief illness at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Tuesday, June 7, 2006. Beloved husband of the late Vera (née PREBBLE) MacQUEEN and the only child of the late Colin and Gertrude MacQUEEN. John was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in 1922. His family spent many happy years in Owen Sound before moving to Niagara Falls. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in World War 2. He worked for Ontario Hydro for 42 years and was a member of the St. Catharines Yacht Club and enjoyed his time on the water aboard the Freedom I. John was predeceased by his sister-in-law Kay TIPLIN a few short years ago and is survived by his dear friend Shirley TURNER. His extended family, The Browns and the Anstruthers will welcome Friends on Monday, June 12, 2006 from 12-1 p.m. at Hetherington and Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Ave. A Service of Remembrance will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Of Victoria Manor, Watford, formerly of London, Ontario, on Sunday, April 9th, 2006 in her 105th year. Predeceased by her husband Reinhardt (1983,) brother, Henry HILGERT (1987,) and sister Katherine KELLNER (1942.) Loving mother of Margaretha TOROK (Budapest, Hungary), Anna Maria and her husband Tihamer TOTH (Budapest, Hungary), Elizabeth FRITZ (London), Ron and wife Pauline TIPPEL (London,) Catharine LANDON (Saint Thomas,) Henry and wife Marilyn TIPPEL (London and Watford), Eva TIPPEL (Saint Thomas). Grandmother to 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also survived by several nieces. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, where the funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, April 13th, 2006 at 1: 00 p.m. Interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery. HEATHERS, Clara (née TIPPEN)
Of Wiarton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13th, 2006 in her 94th year. Cherished mother of Bill of Hepworth, Don of Oxenden, Tom of Wiarton, Sharon TURGEON of Wiarton, Jim of Meaford and Norm of Wiarton. She will be sadly missed by 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren as well as her brothers Brock (Laurel) TIPPEN of Sydenham and Doug TIPPEN of Chatham. Clara was predeceased by her husband William, daughters Bonnie and Grace, parents James and Kathleen TIPPEN, brothers Harold, Arnold and Clarence and sisters Isabel WALTERS and Kay IVEY. The family will receive Friends at the George Funeral Home, Wiarton on Friday, December 15, 2006 from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9: 00 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Clara's life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 1: 00 p.m. with Lt. Mary MILLAR officiating. Interment Oxenden Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family. Formerly of R.R.#3 Thorndale, died peacefully on February 6, 2006 at the Wildwood Care Centre in Saint Marys at the age of 76. Loving wife of the late George Wesley JONES (1993.) Dear mother of Darlene and Jim TIPPING of Thorndale and mother-in-law of Brian MULLIN of England. Dear grandmother of Brian TIPPING of Thorndale, Jen ROSSER and her husband Dave of Lucan, Brenda MULLIN and Brad of London and Jason MULLIN of Thorndale. Great-grandmother of Brody, Nick, Megan and Jack ROSSER. Aside from her husband, Marjorie was also predeceased by her daughter Joyce Diane MULLIN (1996). Family and Friends will be received at the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. South, Saint Marys (519-284-2820) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at 1: 30 p.m. with Reverend Merv TUBB officiating. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of 53 years to LeRoy ROBINSON. Loving mother of Stacey (Bill ABRAM) and Bradley (Jackie). Cherished grandmother of Jessie-Lee, Crystal, Eric, Nicholas, and Cameron. Barbara is survived by her brother and sisters, Kay AUBIN, Joe TIPPING, and Betty CAHILL. The family will receive Friends and relatives at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), London, for visitation on Monday from 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 1 p.m. Cremation. Interment to be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Sadly on Saturday, April 22, 2006 surrounded by her family, Jeanne, beloved wife of the late Ted, peacefully passed away in her 87th year. Loving mom of Carole (David), Marilyn (Jim) and Ted (Techa). Proud grandma of Darryl (Tamara), Christine (Jeremy), Paula (Ian), Caitlin, Nolan, Brett and Alexis. Great-grandma of Hailey and Devyn. Jeanne will be sadly missed by her sister Vivian (Doug), brother Arch and sister-in-law Margaret. SKRABA, Richard John
Died peacefully on November 28th, 2006 at the age of 58. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife Claudette; his children: Carrie Ann (Randy TIPPINS) of Thunder Bay, Shannon SKRABA of Sudbury, Penny Lee (Rocky JACQUES) of Temiskaming Shores, Christine LAJOIE- SKRABA and David SKRABA of London; his grandchildren: Brianna and Samantha (JACQUES) and William (TIPPINS;) his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousin Sandra MARK and other cousins. Also missed by his mother Rose SKRABA and by his sister Angey SABOURIN both of Sudbury. Richard is predeceased by his much loved in-laws Bernard and Therese GABOURY of Temiskaming Shores as well as his father John SKRABA of Sudbury. Richard taught for the London School Board until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed golf from early spring to late fall with his golf buddy Red, and also bowled with the Pedagogue league for many years. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 12th from 7: 00-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, December 13th from 6: 00-7:00 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, where the memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday December 13th, 2006 at 7: 00 p.m. At Richard's request and in accordance with the wishes of his family, please do not send flowers.
