A World War 2 Veteran and four time Cancer survivor, went to
be with the Lord, Sunday, January 15, 2006, at eighty-three years
of age. For forty-nine years, Roy was a loving and faithful husband
to Margaret (née
BEST) whom he married on July 14, 1956, at Silverthorn
United Brethren Church. He was a proud, caring and devoted father
to his son, Daniel (Caroleen), and daughters, Loreen (Glen) and
Pamela (Brian.) He was the cherished Granddad of Jennifer and
Charleen SYE, and Kateleen and David
WHITELEY. He was predeceased
by his brothers Regie and Lloyd and his sister Zeda. Roy was
born in Toronto on June 29, 1922, to Tom and Mary (née
LASHBROOK)
and lived in the same community his whole life. He was a quiet,
devoted Christian and faithful member of New Hope Community (United
Brethren) Church. A hard worker, he held several jobs through
his life, most notably, as a plasterer, a nurse, then a machinist,
the latter for Cummins Diesel from which he retired. He drove
a tank during the war and received metals for his service throughout
Europe. He will be remembered for his playful sense of humour,
humble heart and total devotion to family. Visitation at McDougall
& Brown Funeral Home, 1812 Eglinton Ave. W. on Friday, January
20, 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services at New Hope Community Church, Saturday,
January 21, 11: 00 a.m., 48 Bloem Ave. (Rogers and Dufferin).
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation or New Hope Community Church.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel
Donalda DEAN, a resident of Thompson Gardens in Corunna and former
resident of Port Lambton. Muriel passed away in her 86th year
at the Palliative Care Unit in the Bluewater Health Centre, Sarnia.
Muriel was born in Salmon Arm, British Columbia on February 2,
1920. She was the second daughter of Charles Harvey

Muriel was a
steadfast Christian who loved the Lord all of her life. In her
younger years she taught Sunday School at the Port Lambton United
Church and following that was the Sunday School Superintendent
for 24 years. She was very loving and caring towards her family
and was always there for them. Muriel was also a wonderful helpmate
to her husband Grant who owned and operated the Walpole-Algonac
Ferry from 1949-1981. Friends may call at the Haycock-Cavanagh
Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 and 7-9
p.m. on Thursday. The funeral service will be conducted by Rev.
Ernest HERRON and Reverend Bob
WHALLS on Friday, February 3, in the
chapel of the funeral home at 11 a.m. The interment will follow
at Riverside Cemetery, Sombra. If desired, remembrances to the
Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association may be left

Honoring Harry's requests cremation has taken place and there
will be no visitation. The memorial service to celebrate Harry's
life and faith will be held at the Church of the Holy Saviour,
33 Allen Street, Waterloo, on Saturday, October 14 at 11: 30 a.m.
