SOSINSKY, Stephanie
With quiet dignity and grace on Monday, May 1, 2006, at the Westbury Long Term Care Facility, Stephanie SOSINSKY, in her 88th year, dearly beloved wife of the late Harry SOSINSKY. Beloved mother of Maria and her husband Richard McLELLAN, Barb and her husband Joe MORONEY, and Darya SOSINSKY. Loving Baba of Ian and Stuart. Predeceased by her siblings Walter and his wife Mary ZAZINSKY, Mary CHADWICK, Joe ZAZINSKY and Ed ZAZINSKY. Dear sister-in-law of Emily ZAZINKSY and Peter SOSINSKY. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and Friends. Stephanie was deeply guided by her faith and was completely devoted to her family. Although she was reserved, she was warm, generous, resourceful and a true and loyal friend to many. She was a woman of incredible quiet strength and conviction. She was a talented singer, dancer, seamstress, decorator and gardener, and she loved her desserts. She never looked her age. Married at 29 and widowed at 49 with three young daughters, she returned to the workforce and was employed steadily until she retired at age 81. She and Harry were proud founding members of St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Parish in Etobicoke and she was a longtime church choir member. The family will receive their Friends at the Newediuk Funeral Home, Kipling Chapel, 2104 Kipling Avenue (2 blocks north of Rexdale Boulevard), from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Panakhyda Thursday 7: 30 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Friday from St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 La Rose Avenue, at 9: 30 a.m. Cremation and a private interment at Mount Hope Cemetery to follow at a later date. The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to all the staff of the Westbury for their kindness, compassion and Friendship.

HANIGSBERG, Oscar
Died in Los Angeles on the 15th of April 2006 a few days short of his 93rd birthday. Beloved father of Nina RICHMOND, William HANIGSBERG, and Eric HANIGSBERG (deceased,) father-in-law of JoAnn Barlow HANIGSBERG, grandfather to Julia HANIGSBERG and Erica KATZEN, proud great grandfather of Rachel, Leah, and Max Sossin, and affectionate comrade of Julia's husband Lorne SOSSIN, Oscar was pre-deceased by Isabelle, the wife he adored and deeply missed. He was a lover of young people, art, music, Yiddish and tennis. Oscar possessed a goodness that enabled him to find the best in people as well as the ability to manage the technicalities of life (including professional life) in the interests of justice which he revered. He was able to look beyond the details - of parenthood, business, Friendship - to ask what is right. For this rare sensibility he was beloved and valued and because of it he will be missed by many people. We who survive are challenged and improved by the example he set for us. Friends may gather on Monday, April 24 from 11: 00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at "The Riverside", 76th St. and Amsterdam Ave., New York, New York. Burial to follow at Mount Ararat Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hanigsberg/Sossin Endowment Fund at Reena 905-763-8254 or www.reena.org
