Passed away, on April 1, 2006, in his 97th year, at Meighan Manor in Toronto. Until June 2005 he lived at home with his wife, Phyllis LAMB, for nearly 60 years. Their last years together were spent happily tending their garden, and visiting with family, Friends, and neighbours. He is survived by Phyllis, their sons, Robert (Patricia MacKAY), David (Lynne), and Peter (Kathie KNIGHT) and their families: their grandchildren, Michael LAMB (Jessica SORICHETTI,) Jennifer BARBOUR (Scott), Carolyn LAMB, Tama and Kira KNIGHT, and their great-grand_son Jack BARBOUR. Phyllis and her family thank the home-care workers, the nurses and doctors at Sunnybrook Hospital, and particularly the caregivers at Meighan Manor for their dedicated and loving care during the last two years of his life. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Meighan Manor, 155 Millwood Road, Toronto, on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 2: 00 p.m. At the request of the family, flowers are gratefully declined.

Suddenly passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital, on Friday, April 6, 2006, at the age of 90. Dearly beloved husband of the late Dorothy. Loving father of Ronald, Richard and Deborah. Proud grandfather of Michael, Vanessa, Grace, Michael, Robert, Jessica and great-grandfather of Meagan, Emily, Mya, and Matthew. A World War 2 Veteran with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Life member of the Musicians Union, Past President of the Toronto Camera Club, a renowned photographer, and most notably Ron was a well-known accomplished jazz pianist. His piano music from the era of the 30's, 40's and 50's brought much joy and happiness to many Friends, family, boat cruise vacationers and veterans. Ron was thankful and blessed for his long, happy and healthy life. An interment service will follow. Born Elizabeth Ann DICKER in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, passed away on December 22nd, 2005 at age 82, peacefully in hospital after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. Proud Women's Royal Naval Service war veteran. Beloved wife of Harold John SHORT for 58 years. Loving mother to her daughter Judy SHORT, her son Robert SHORT and her son-in-law Richard SORRENTINO. Caring grandmother to Eric SORRENTINO and his family. Devoted sister to William and Peggy DICKER, Patricia WILLEY, and Shirley DICKER, and fond aunt to their families. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Ann DICKER, by her parents-in-law John and Catherine SHORT, by her younger brother Fred DICKER and by her niece Sharon BROWN and nephew Doug DICKER. Cremation has taken place, as was her wish. A private memorial service in her honour was held with immediate family present on January 1, 2006. Sadly missed by grandchildren Jessica (Jamie), Chantel (Kyle), Amber (Keith), Heather (Paul), Joey, Scotty, Daniel and great-grandchildren Jade, Shaunisti, Jace and Kadence. Dearly missed by mother Rosa BELL and mother-in-law Betty MOXLEY. Survived by brother John BELL (Elizabeth,) sisters Dareth TEASDALE and Ruth BELL, sisters-in-law Marie BELL, Faith MOXLEY, Bonnie LODGE (Terry), Shelly DICKSON/DIXON (Butch) and Lynda MOXLEY and brothers-in-law Robert MOXLEY and Ralph MOXLEY. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his father Earl, brother David, granddaughter Ashley, brother-in-law Abe and sister-in-law Sharon. Family and Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.), on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted in the Logan Chapel on Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at 10: 30 a.m. with Pastor Junior C. SORZANO, from the London First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Cremation to take place. Reception to follow at the Victoria Hotel (Maitland and South St.). In lieu of flowers, donations to the London Regional Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family. At Elmwood Place Retirement Community, London on June 15th, 2006, Violet Emily (SAMBELL) JEFFERY of London in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late William Earl JEFFERY (1984.) Dear mother of Mary Lois and Bruce COOPER of London, Larry and Jacquie JEFFERY of Aylmer, and David and Sharon JEFFERY of Sutton. Much loved grandmother of Keven JEFFERY and Marika HOE of Boston, Neil JEFFERY and Sonja LEAL of London, Megan Emily JEFFERY and Mark OAKES of London, Andrea JEFFERY and Dave FERRIS of Toronto, Nicole Emily JEFFERY of Sutton. Loving step grandmother of Randy and Marlene ROBINSON of Kingman, Arizona, Rick and Teresa ROBINSON of Phoenix, Arizona and Linda and Richard WEBBER of Salford. Special great-grandmother of Jada Violet LEAL, Felix and Xander OAKES. Survived by her sister Grace ASTLES of Burlington. Predeceased by her parents Francis Poole SAMBELL (1957) and Emily Louisa (RATHBONE) SAMBELL (1924) and 11 siblings: Florence McROBERTS (1975), Francis George (1897), Ethel May (1898), Francis "Frank" (1983), Benjamin (1968), William (1985), Sydney (1981), Mabel OUTRAM (2001,) Henry "Harry" (2001,) Albert (1983) and Herbert (1999). Violet graduated as an R.N. from the Ontario Hospital in London in 1932. She nursed in London, Whitby and Woodstock, before marrying in 1942, and spending 45 years in Dereham Centre. She retired from nursing at Parkwood Hospital in London in 1972. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Monday, June 19th, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. with Reverend Junior SORZANO officiating. Interment in Mount Elgin Cemetery, Mount Elgin Ontario. On Thursday, September 28, 2006 Willy AKEY (née OLIE) passed away in her 63rd year, resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus. Beloved mother of David AKEY (wife Lisa) of Kitchener, Darren AKEY (wife Melissa) of Stratford, Derek AKEY of Victoria, British Columbia and Margaret VREUGDENHIL- BEAUCLERC (husband Ken) of Owen Sound. Sadly missed by her mother Sadie OLIE of London and predeceased by her father Dirk (1993). Loving grandmother of Beau; Ema, Owen, Keira; Connor, Avery and Spencer. Dear sister of Helen OLIE, twin-sister Cora THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON (husband Lloyd) and Elly JEKL (husband Andy) all of London. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
