Peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, April 20, 2006. Cherished and beloed mother of Erica and Jay MANIS. Loving and devoted daughter of Simon and Shirley, beloved sister and sister-in-law of Debbie and Harry SHNABEL, and caring aunt to Mira, Lisa, and Mark SHNABEL, and loving partner of Jeffrey BERLIND. Heartfeld thanks and gratitude to all the caring staff at T.R.S.C.C. Doctor H. WARNER, and the palliative care team of York Region. Funeral was held April 21, 2006. SHNEER, Ben
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9th, 2006. Beloved husband of Faye, devoted father of Murray and Sandra, loving grandfather of Cara, Daniel, Michel and Amara, great-grandfather of Rahim, and brother of Sam and Harold. Ben will be greatly missed by family and Friends. Graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 12th at 1 p.m., Bathurst Lawn Cemetery, Kiever Podoler Section. Shiva will be observed at 18 Old English Lane, Thornhill. Evening services to be held at 7: 30 p.m. Donations if desired may be made to the Israeli Soldiers Fund, 416-783-3053.

RIFE, Doctor Donald Logan
Passed away on Friday, October 20, 2006 at North York General Hospital in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Janette RIFE (nee McCURDY.) Devoted father of Katherine (Joe) ALESSI of Nyack, New York, Nora (Zachary SHNEK,) and Gordon (Laurie.) Cherished grandfather of Lindsey, Christine, Joseph, and Gianna. Dear brother of Robert RIFE and Joan HICKS of Panama City, Florida. Donald will be fondly remembered by family, Friends, and former patients. He served in the Canadian Dental Corps during World War 2. Graduated from the University of Toronto Dental School in 1950 and set up practice in North Toronto until the age of 83. He was President of the Canadian Dental Association in 1977 and also served for the North Toronto Dental Association and the Ontario Dental Association through much of his working life. Two of his major accomplishments include introducing fluoridation into the Toronto water system and developing the Dental Insurance Fee Guide. He was also a founding member of Northminster United Church. Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Northminster United Church (255 Finch Ave. W.). Peacefully, surrounded by her loving husband, children and sister, following a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, Carolyn SOLOMONS, on May 27, 2006. Carol will always be lovingly remembered by her husband of 45 years, Syd SOLOMONS, by her children, Susie (Ephraim) DLOOMY, Hayden (Robyn) SOLOMONS, Lesley (Stephen) COHEN and Lori (Shawn) GOLDENBERG, by her adoring grandchildren, Josh, Zack, Dean, Brooke, Michelle, Madison, Max, Stephanie, Carly, Jordana and Halle, by her dear mother, Gertie KLEINBERG and her predeceased father Irving KLEINBERG, and by her sister, Simmy (Robert) SHNIER. Bubby Carol's energetic spirit is and will always be felt in our hearts forever.
