RYDER,
Clarice
May (1995-2005)
She left us a year ago. Now gone, but not forgotten. In me every
day, in every way, much of what I am I owe to her. She was proud
of me and I am proud to be her son. Growing up in England during
the depression, and then the war, was not an easy start. She
chose to leave soon after the war for what she hoped was a better
life in Canada. It was not an easy thing to do. She started with
nothing. But, having worked hard for everything she had, in the
end Mom had more than she ever knew. When she left us it was
her request that no service be held and that her ashes be scattered.
That was typical of her. She never sought the centre stage. She
never wanted a memorial. She faced her finality at peace with
herself and the world. Rest well Mom on the wind and the waves.
You live on inside me. Love Alan.
