KOLASKY, Nicholas
Passed away at Sunnybrook Hospital on January 12, 2006 after a short battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Cynthia and son Nick, granddaughters Linn (John) and Caitlin. Former husband of Thelma DREYER. Predeceased by son Kerry and daughter Wendy. Beloved brother of Victoria ROPCHAN, Ann DARLING and Peter, predeceased by his brothers John and George. Nicholas was born in Brethour, Northern Ontario. He served the Canadian Army in Europe during World War 2 and later co-founded and became president of Bowin Screw Products. Friends may call at the Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill, (4th traffic light north of Major Mackenzie Dr.) on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, January 16, 2006 at 1: 30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Sunnybrook and Women's College Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses who could not possibly have done more to make his last days any more comfortable.

McGILLIVRAY, Derek Richard
Passed away suddenly of heart failure at his residence in Toronto on March 19, 2006, age 64 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Heather (née LING) and proud and loving father of Craig, Elissa (Josh RANDELL) and Kate. He is survived in British Columbia by his brother Brett (Carol Ann GLOVER) and sisters Fawn (Jim) KNOX and Vicki (Doug) McKEE. Also survived in Prince Edward Island by his mother-in-law Dorothy (Baker LING) ROPER, brother-in-law Dr. Don (Mary K) LING and sister-in-law Karen (Lornie) WOOD. Graduate of University of British Columbia (B.A.) and Carleton (M.A. Canadian Studies.) A job at TVOntario in 1972 began his long-standing involvement in the Canadian television industry, primarily with his own company, Ironstar Communications. Upon retiring, Derek fulfilled the dream of a family trip to Africa and a successful assault of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Well known as a "people person", he will be greatly missed as a warm and loving family-man, a true friend, a respected businessman, an exceptional athlete, a fount of historical and geographical knowledge, and with a fondness for things Scottish, especially celebrating in the tradition of Robbie Burns. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, from 6-9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Runnymede United Church, 432 Runnymede Rd., Toronto. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. On Tuesday, January 24th, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family. Beloved husband for 60 years of Ruby ROBERTS. Cherished father of Brian (Sharron,) Vicki (Ron MacKERETH), Rob (Dale), Ken (Sue), Wendy (Joe LOGIUDICE), Tim (Wendy), Brett (Joanne) and Corbin (Andrea). Loved Papa to 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren. Dear son of the late Henry and Jean ANDREWS. Predeceased by sisters Catherine ANDREWS and Ruth ROPER. Survived by brothers-in-law Chuck ROPER, Doug (Evelyn) and Harold (Gwen) ROBERTS. Lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews, cousins and Friends. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd. (north of Lawrence Ave.), Weston on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, January 28th, 2006 at 12 noon. After a courageous battle with breast cancer our mother passed away on Monday, April 17th, 2006 at the age of 63. She is preceded by her mother Ann GALLIMORE and step-father Othniel GALLIMORE. She leaves her children Mark PORTEOUS and Ivin PORTEOUS, grand_son Christian PORTEOUS, sister Ivolyn FORBES, nephews Jasper JONES, Dean FORBES and many other family members. Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E., Hamilton 905-387-2111 on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (directions from Toronto: Queen Elizabeth Way to 403, Hamilton, exit at the Lincoln Alexander Parkway, take to Upper Wentworth, turn left on Upper Wentworth, turn left on Fennell Ave., Funeral Home is 6 blocks up on the left). Going home ceremonies will take place at Mount Hermon United Presbyterian Church, Lamb's River, Westmoreland, Jamaica, West Indies on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 2 p.m. Thank you to Doctor P. Passed away at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Durham on Monday, April 17th, 2006. Rufus John BENDER, of R.R.#3 Durham, in his 88th year. Loving husband of Ellen BENDER, formerly Ellen ROTH. Cherished father of Sandy BENDER and his wife Bonnie of Wroxeter, Karen and her husband Harold FLAMING of Guelph, Gloria and her husband Ron MacDONALD of Hanover, Paul BENDER and his wife Barb of Mississauga, and John BENDER and his wife Carol Ann of Durham. Fondly remembered by his 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Survived by his sisters Viola ROPP and Ruby WEBER. Brother-in-law of Agnes GINGERICH. Predeceased by his sister Rosetta BENDER and his brother Chris BENDER. At the Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, on Tuesday, September 26th, 2006 at the age of 89 years, the former Ruby SHANTZ of Port Elgin. Wife of the late Harvey ROPPEL. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and by her sister-in-law Mary SHANTZ of Stoney Creek. Friends may call at the W. Kent Milroy Port Elgin Chapel, 510 Mill Street, Port Elgin (Town of Saugeen Shores) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 28th, 2006.
