LASKO,
Josephine
(February 22, 1915-March 30, 2006)
Josie has gone home to the loving arms of the Lord. She was born
in Rossburn, Manitoba, daughter of Ukrainian immigrants, youngest
of four sisters and two brothers (all deceased) and widowed by
Alexander A.
LASKO,
Architect.
She had a long career as a bookeeper
at Traders Finance and was also a great cook. Her pirohey, holupchy
and butter tarts were the envy of everyone. She was an active
member of the Ukrainian Womens Institute and a dedicated Christian
who sang in the St. Andrews church choir. Saturday afternoons
were always spent cleaning a spotless house to the strains of
the Metropolitan Opera "Live from the Met". After a long career
at Traders she took a nurses aid course at Humber College and
graduated at the age of seventy. She was afflicted by Alzheimers
and spent the last 15 years in a nursing home. We are very grateful
to the exceptional caring staff of Lakeshore Lodge who have lovingly
cared for our mother and grandmother for the past 10 years. She
will be missed by Myron and Jane, Doctor
JOSEPH and Janet, and sister
Sandra RIVAS.
Sadly missed by her grandchildren Ken and Khristine,
Debbie and Vince, Joe, Jesse, Allyson and Jenna, Daniel and Nicholas,
and great-grandchildren Brendan and Nolan. Friends may call at
the Turner and Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. West, Etobicoke

A funeral service will be held Monday, April 2 at 11: 00 a.m.
at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Humber Heights, corner of
Royal York Rd. and Dixon. Interment will follow at Sanctuary
Park Cemetery across the street from the church. Donations to
