A resident of Port Lambton, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the age of 67. Aggie was a daughter of the late Norman and Verna (MYERS) JOHNSTON and a daughter-in-law of the late Mason and Betty PERRIN. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Charles PERRIN (1984.) Loving mother and mother-in-law of: Craig and Debbie PERRIN of Petrolia, Kirk and Terry PERRIN of Bancroft, Beth and Cal BURRELL of Wallaceburg and Jill PERRIN and Paul STERLING of Chatham. Dear grandmother of: David, Mark, Kirk, Brent, Allan, Mitch, Brittany and Kris. Sister and sister-in-law of: Theresa and the late Norm REGAN of Wallaceburg, Rose and the late Blake HAZZARD of Chatham, Shirley and Roe CHARBONNEAU of Wallaceburg, Nancy and Lyle McCORMICK of Chatham and John PERRIN of Wallaceburg. Special friend of Roy GREALIS of Port Lambton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd, 639 Elgin Street, in Wallaceburg, on Sunday March 12, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held on Monday March 13, 2006, at 11 a.m., from Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Wallaceburg, with Fr. Greg BONIN, Celebrant. Prayers will be Sunday evening at 8 p.m. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. Of Saint Thomas, passed away at the Saint Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, September 30, 2006, in her 79th year. Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Donald W. BEER (Mar. 2, 2003.) Loving mother of Linda LEE and her husband Greg of London, Richard BEER and Gerald BEER, both of R.R.#3, Saint Thomas. Dear grandmother of Trisha MORRIS and her fiancé Jason GROUETTE, Steven LEE and his fiancée Joanna REGAN, and great grandmother of Benjamin and Thomas LEE, all of London. Sadly missed by her sister, Mary DUDDER, her brother, Walter MELNYK and his wife Mary, all of Calgary, Alberta and sister-in-law, Muriel SUCH of Saint Thomas. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan, October 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Samko and Annie KRYSAK) MELNYK. She was a former employee of Singer Controls, Saint Thomas. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1: 00 p.m. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. QUIGLEY, Mary Lucia (née WINTERMEYER)
Mary Lucia Wintermeyer QUIGLEY died in her home in London, Ontario, surrounded by her seven children, on Friday December 1st, 2006. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mal (Malachi Edward QUIGLEY) and her devoted parents, Caroline Kaiser WINTERMEYER and Alfred Carl WINTERMEYER and her much beloved brother and sister, John WINTERMEYER and Rita SHONIKER, each who nurtured in her the incredibly strong sense of commitment, love and compassion to others. Mary taught her children, John QUIGLEY, Ted QUIGLEY, Caroline QUIGLEY, Meg and Gerry HAWKINS, Therese QUIGLEY, Patrick QUIGLEY and Daniel QUIGLEY, that compassion for others is the greatest virtue and expression of a true love of God. She was a caring and loving "Nana" to her Grandchildren Jamie HAWKINS, Matthew HAWKINS, Joseph HAWKINS and Sara MacMILLAN, Katie and Adam WARD, Megan and Jeff GRAHAM and Cory QUIGLEY. Her sisters Lucy QUIGLEY, Betty BRENNAN and Therese WILEY and her brother-in-law James WILEY, while mourning their loss, rejoice in the knowledge that Mary is indeed now home through the grace of God. Her brothers-in-law, William BRENNAN and Edward SHONIKER and her sisters-in-law, Helen Delaney WINTERMEYER, Betty Lang WINTERMEYER and her niece, Judith Wintermeyer DONA preceded her death as well as did Mal's brothers and sisters whom she dearly loved, Mary (Mamie) CURRIE, Johanna GLEESON, Ellen (Bill) RYAN, Jack QUIGLEY, Gertrude GLEESON, Harry QUIGLEY and Blanche KELLY all of whom brought into Mary's life such wit and laughter. Mary's family expresses a heartfelt thank-you for the wonderful care she experienced from Community Care Access Centre, Doctor John SANGSTER and staff at the Byron Medical Group and Doctor Kelly REGAN. Mary was very grateful to all those who cared for her at home over the last twenty years, in particular, Dorothy CORNELL, Sheila PHILLIPS, Donna CIANCI and Jean HAGARTY and the staff at St. Pius (Holy Family) whom brought Mary such love, tenderness and joy. Her Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Peter's Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London, on Saturday morning December 2, 2006 at 11 o'clock. Interment in Saint Peter's Cemetery. Dear brother of Josephine and her husband Ron DOUGHTY of Thunder Bay, and brother-in-law of Beatrice CASEY, West Lorne, Catherine REGIER, Walkerton, and Patrick SULLIVAN, Exeter. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Henry and Tilly LOOS, sister Madeliene DOROTA and his brothers William and Edward LOOS. Stanley graduated from the University of Toronto in 1951 with a degree in Chemical Engineering and is a Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving in World War 2. Stanley retired from Polysar in 1982 and volunteered as a driver with the Victorian Order of Nurses and Meals on Wheels. Suddenly at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Thursday, April 6, 2006, John Martinus VEREYKEN of Strathroy in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Ann (TIMMERS.) Loving father of Marion and Shaun BEACH of Windsor and Maurice and Sarah VEREYKEN of Elmira and grandfather of Alexander, Marlies and Daniel. Dear brother of Pieta and Harvey SCHROEDER, Martin and Cathy VEREYKEN, Sister Anne REGIER, Archie and Nellie VEREYKEN, Mary and Martin VAN ROOY and Frank and Joan VEREYKEN. He will also be missed by his many family and Friends in Holland. Predeceased by his sister Paula. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brian on Friday, March 24th, 2006; in his 62nd year. Brian is survived by his devoted wife and soulmate Rosemary (FAUBERT) who has treasured their life together for over 35 years. Brian was born on June 27th, 1944 to Robert and Kathleen (predeceased) TURNBULL in Fife, Scotland. He will be deeply missed by his cherished father and his dear sister Kathleen CHARLTON of Barrie, Ontario. He is also survived by his stepmother Mary (SIEGRIST) and her family Jan REGIS, Eric, Stephen and Barry SIEGRIST who has not only been one of Brian's devoted caregivers but a wonderful support to Rosemary during this difficult time. And he will be sadly missed by his many other relatives, Friends, neighbours, and colleagues. Brian has faced many challenges in his life with unwavering determination and such a positive attitude. He has also had several special accomplishments including winning a Gold Medal at the 1967 Pan Am Games for swimming some 6 years after being seriously injured in a car accident which left him a paraplegic at age 17. He was named Orillia's Athlete of the Year in 1968, won several public speaking contests over the years and coached and mentored many aspiring young lawyers. He also made time for his community serving on the Cancer Society, the Ethics Board for Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, the Terriers Hockey Club, the Big Brother Association and belonged to both the Kinsmen and Rotary Clubs. But Brian's crowning moment was when he was admitted to Osgoode Hall Law School at age 40 after owning and managing several small businesses in Simcoe County and Toronto. Brian loved practicing the law and was deeply respected and admired by Judges, Lawyers, Court Staff and the many clients he assisted with his fair, compassionate, non-judgmental way. Brian loved his home, maintaining his property, working on model ships, cooking, entertaining Friends, and travelling. He and Rosemary were fortunate enough to do extensive travelling and particularly enjoyed visiting Brian's homeland Scotland and spending time in the Caribbean. He leaves Rosemary, his Friends and family with so many wonderful, funny, precious memories and he will be so missed. Brian TURNBULL - a friend to many; and inspiration to all. Following cremation, the family will receive Friends at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia, on Monday, March 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 28th at the Hawk Ridge Golf and Country Club, Orillia from 3: 30 until time of Memorial Service at 4: 30 p.m. A Reception to Celebrate Brian's Life will be held immediately following the Memorial Service. Entered Eternal Life on September 30, 2006 in Chatham, Ontario. She was born in Mount Carmel, Ontario in 1914, the daughter of the late John and Cecilia (HOULAHAN) HOGAN. She entered the Ursuline Religious of the Diocese of London in 1942. During her religious life she served as a homemaker at Ursuline Motherhouse, Parkhill, Stratford, and Strathroy, Ontario. Sr. Cecilia received her Diploma in Religious Education in Michigan and served as a catechist in Menominee and Stephenson, Michigan. She also was Director of Resident Students at "The Pines" did clerical, bursar and receptionist work. She was a Parish Visitor in Strathroy and Woodstock. In 1993, she returned to Chatham. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers Michael, Edward, Wilfred and sisters Theresa DUCHARME and Mary REGNIER. Relatives and Friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Monday, October 2, at 7 p.m, in the Holy Family Chapel at "The Pines" Chatham. At the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, on Wednesday, January 18, 2006. Robert BROWN of Innisfil, in his 84th year, beloved husband of the late Lee BROWN. Loving father of Cathy and her husband Keith HAMPSHIRE of Lefroy, Jan and her husband David KUBBINGA of Oshawa. Loving grandfather of Laurie and her husband Danny REGU, Christian HAMPSHIRE and his wife Megan, Laura HAMPSHIRE, Ashley and Robert KUBBINGA, and great-grandfather of Logan REGU. Dear brother of Bill BROWN and his wife Sophie of London, Don BROWN and his wife Betty of Southampton, and the late John BROWN and his wife Wanda. Friends were received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Road, at Yonge Street, Barrie, on Friday from 2: 00 p.m. until the time of Service in the Chapel on Friday, January 20, 2006 at 3: 00 p.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation or the Hospital for Sick Children would be appreciated by the family. Beloved Nanny of Cassandra, Joey, Jessica, Victoria-Rose, Samantha, D'Arcy and Sean. Dear sister of Lorne, Marilyn and Breada. Remembered by other relatives and Friends. (north of Lawrence Ave.), Weston on Tuesday (tonight) from 7-9 p.m. Service in the Ward Chapel on Wednesday, March 22nd at 4 p.m. followed by cremation.
