Dear father of Greg SHAW and his wife Debbie of Corunna, Peg SWANSON of Allen Park, Michigan. Carole LANE and her husband Cliff of Corunna and Bryan SHAW and his wife Brenda of Sarnia. Loving grandfather of Derek, Dayna, B.J. and his wife Christine, Adam, Samantha, James and great-grandfather of Blayre. Also survived by many special nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Ethyl PRYCE. Jim was a longtime member of St. Pauls Masonic Lodge #106, a longtime member of Corunna United Church, a Superintendent of Education for Moore (St. Clair) Township, Past Principal of Hanna Memorial School, Past Member of Lambton County Board of Education and was the first Executive Director of Goodwill Industries. LAMPHIER, Thelma Doris (née MULHOLLAND)
(April 27, 1918-September 25, 2006)
On Monday, September 25, 2006, Mrs. Thelma Doris LAMPHIER (nee MULHOLLAND,) of London, Ontario, in her 89th year, passed away in Edmonton, Alberta, surrounded by her loving family, following a celebration of the 65th Wedding Anniversary of Thelma and her devoted husband, Leo James LAMPHIER. Thelma's indelible spirit, irrepressible sense of humour, and undying devotion to her cherished husband and family will be remembered forever. Thelma was born a prairie girl, in Pontieux, Saskatchewan, where she lived as a child until her parents, Gwen MULHOLLAND (née PRYCE) and George, moved to London. One of nine children, Thelma was predeceased by her dear son Brian, her mother and father, her two brothers, Wilfred and Clifford, and three sisters, Helen, Dorothy and Ethel. Thelma is survived by her husband and lifelong best friend, Leo, two loving daughters, Brenda and Anne, three adoring sons, Steve, Gary and Wayne, their devoted spouses, Reid, Spencer, Deborah, Toni, and Diana, as well as six wonderful grandchildren: Trevor, Madeleine, Devon, Connor (LAMPHIER), Leigh and Kate (SALTERS), and her gorgeous, first great-grandchild, Anneli (OLSON.) Thelma is also survived by her youngest sister, Gladys (MERROW,) her younger brother Kenneth (MULHOLLAND) and her elder brother Howard (MULHOLLAND.) Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29th from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, with prayers at 7: 00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta Street, London, on Saturday, September 30, 2006, at 10: 00 a.m. with interment to follow at Saint Peter's Cemetery. A lunch and celebration of Thelma's life will immediately follow at Holy Family Parish Hall. Of Sarnia, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 4, 2006 in the Cape Coral, Florida hospital. Faye, as she wished to be called, sustained a heart attack at home on January 31, 2006 and never regained consciousness. Born in Saint Marys, resident of Sarnia, and Florida "snowbird", she touched the hearts of many. Faye greatly enjoyed her work in the travel industry. Survivors include her parents, Leonard LAVELLE of Saint Marys, Helen Kurtz MITCHELL of London, sister Elizabeth "Betty" (Mrs. Fred DUBRICK) of Sebringville and two brothers, James and wife Jeanne of St. Clair, Michigan and William and wife Jill of Edmonton, son Ritchard BATTEN of Calgary, daughter Lisa BATTEN of Sebringville, granddaughter Kayleigh of Victoria, British Columbia, and step-children Scott KIRBY of Clovis, California, Reed KIRBY of San Diego, California, Allison PRYHARSKI of Culver City, California, and her husband, Major H. KIRBY, Jr. (Hank) of Cape Coral, Florida. Faye who derived great pleasure planning and participating in cruises most recently participated in a three week venture over Christmas and New Years from Ft. Lauderdale to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with stops at four Caribbean Islands, Devi's Island and five Brazilian ports. Albums of treasured photographs including Christ the Redeemer statue and Sugarloaf remain partly assembled. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2006, 3: 15 p.m. at St. Peters Cathedral, London, by Father Jim MOCKLER. It is with great sadness that Gordon's family announces his death at the age of 61 years, at home on Friday, September 29, 2006 as a result of melanoma. His gentel nature is greatly missed by his wife Heather HEMSLEY, his mother and step-father Margaret 'Jimmy' and Don McGREGOR, his brothers John (Margaret GIBSON,) Frank (Bettieanne) and his sister Sarah PRYSE- PHILLIPS. Gordon is also survived by Heather's sons and his good Friends Bryce (Jill BAKER) and Rod (Sherry BENNETT) and his nieces and nephews. Also missed by many Friends who will all remember happy times with him in his garden and welcoming home. Arrangements entrusted to the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place. A loving husband, father and grandfather who died peacefully on Friday, November 24th, 2006, in his 76th year. Kind and faithful husband for almost 50 years to Betty. He also leaves behind his children Betty Ann (Edward) PRYZDIAL, Glenn (Patricia) and Gail (John) ALMAND and grandchildren Johnathan, Ian, Matthew, Robert, William and Nicholas. Brother of Robert (Betty), Vincent (Annette) and Stanley. Peter was born in Rathven, Banffshire in 1931. He came to Canada in 1952. Betty and Peter were married on December 1st, 1956 and together they never looked back. His Friends will always remember him as someone who loved growing and eating potatoes, in any form.
