Psalm At Grace Manor (Nursing Home), Brampton, Ontario, our Lord in His infinite wisdom, mercy and love called home Pieter DEKOTER. Beloved husband of Suzanna DEKOTER for nearly 68 years. Dear father of Larry and Willy, Tony and Mary and Gremar and Rev. Case VAN WYK. Grandfather of Rodney and Marietta, David and Tina, Ken and Leona, Jeffery and Kathy, Susan and Mark DIELEMAN, Janis and Dave PERSENAIRE, Stephen and Adria VAN WYK, Tina PERSENAIRE and Becky VAN WYK. Lovingly remembered by 12 great-grandchildren. Also survived by one sister in The Netherlands and one brother-in-law and sister-in-law in St. Catharines, Ontario. Visitors will be received at Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street S., Brampton on Sunday April 2 from 2-5 p.m. A private committal service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday April 3, 2006. Pieter DEKOTER resided in London, Ontario for 34 years, where he worked at Almatex Paint and Varnish and Kelcoatings Limited. The family announces with deep sorrow the tragic death of Andrew Peter OSIDACZ on Saturday, March 18, 2006 in this 42nd year. Loving father of the late Jared OSIDACZ. Also predeceased by his grandparents, father Jaroslaw OSIDACZ, aunts Louise MARSH and Lillian CAVALIERI (godmother.) Beloved son of Elizabeth OSIDACZ, brother to Michael OSIDACZ and Maria CHMURA. Fondly remembered by his aunt Anna Maria FARRELL, uncles Harold FARRELL and Henry MARSH. Loving uncle to Richard CHMURA Jr., Philip (godson,) Lisa, Alex and Lillian (goddaughter). He will be dearly missed by Julie Powell, Richard CHMURA Sr., Kevin PRACK, Larry MARSH (godfather) and his many cousins and Friends. Andrew worked as a successful salesperson for Acheson Colloids Company for 23 years. He was highly regarded by his fellow employees and customers, and will be sadly missed. Dear grandfather of Kimberley (Jorge) PRADO, Michelle (Russ) ANSELL, Nasser ZABIAN, Elysia BEDNAREK, Joshua BEDNAREK and great-grandfather of Abigail and Kaitlynn ANSELL and Javier PRADO. Predeceased by his parents Powell and Maria BEDNAREK, his brothers William (Natalie) BEDNAREK, Eugene (Verna) BEDNAREK and by his sister Angela BEDNAREK. Walter was a veteran of World War 2 serving with the Polish Army and was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #55, Woodstock and worked at Standard Tube for over 18 years. Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at the Ottawa Hospital on Monday October 16, 2006 in her 90th year. Born in Bentinck Township, Ontario, daughter of Margaret and Thomas SHEWELL. Beloved wife of the late Francis Patrick MELOSHE and cherished mother of Nancy (Dr. Ian PRAGNELL), Mary (Dr. Phyllis HIERLIHY), Patrice (Elmer TUMAK) and Timothy. Dear sister of Helen HILL (Norman) of Windsor, Ontario and sister-in-law of Wilfred and Helen MELOCHE of Owen Sound. Predeceased by her brothers Albert, Walter, Charles and Stanley, and; by her sisters Isabel HURLEY and Violet HOGAN of Owen Sound. Pearl was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Women's League and a lifelong parishioner of Saint Mary's Church, Owen Sound. There are angels too numerous to mention among the doctors, residents, nurses, therapists and administrative staff at the Ottawa Hospital and the Ottawa Heart Institute who treated Pearl with professionalism, dedication and compassion. Shirley was a member and secretary/treasurer of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Dresden. Her husband Donald CLARK predeceased in 1989. Surviving are a daughter Luanne CLARK of Dresden; a son Rick and his wife Terry CLARK of R.R.#6 Dresden; five grandchildren: Chris and Amy OLIPHANT, Corie OLIPHANT, Amie SWAN, Christal and Darren WILLS, Candy and Mike TAILOR/TAYLOR, Chad CLARK; six great grandchildren two brothers: Ron and Kaye BRITTON of Manooth, Gary BRITTON of Thamesville; one sister: Lenore and Ron MILES of Scarborough. Survived by his truest Angel, his beloved wife Matina (née PRASSAS,) his daughter Eleni (David SMOLEN, Deposit, New York;) his oldest son, Tom (Toronto;) his son Jamie (Adele WEDER, Queen Charlotte, British Columbia;) his 2 granddaughters, Julia SAGE and Natalie ROSE and his extra-special son, Adam SHEIKH (Toronto.) Additionally, survived and blessed by his beloved mother-in-law, Loula PRASSAS (Toronto;) his two beautiful sisters-in-law, Koula O'BRIEN and Georgia PRASSAS (Toronto;) and his brother Jack (Saskatoon.) Jim now journeys to his beloved Angel daughter, Julia Caren, who opens her small wings to embrace him after all these years and to his beloved sister Kay (Dr. Katherine METRAKOS, Montreal) who predeceased him after her own valiant struggle. Special thanks to the fine staff at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and the expert care of Doctor Ron KEREN. We will miss his silly, fun-loving spirit and he will be pleased to know we are submitting his name to the Guinness Book of Records for the "longest goodbye." BRETT, Slade Egerton (1920-2006)
The family announces with sadness that Slade Egerton BRETT died peacefully in his sleep on March 16th at Grace Hospital in Toronto at the age of 85 years. With his loving wife Sonia ZAHARA at his side, Slade slipped away after suffering for several months from cancer, an illness he dealt with in his graceful and dignified way. Slade was predeceased by his parents Dorothy and Ronald BRETT and his brother William. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Rosina and Jeremy BOOTH of Fakenham, England and his brothers-in-law, Ted ZAHARA (Deborra LEM) of Collingwood, Ontario and Donald ZAHARA of China. He was the proud and loving uncle of Owen ZAHARA, Suzanne PRATLEY and Leslie ZAHARA, and caring godfather of Nicola BRADBURY and Jessica CAMPBELL. Born in Duncan, British Columbia on July 21st, 1920, as a young boy Slade moved to England. In 1937 he enrolled in the University of London and entered the University Officer Cadet Corps, from which he joined the Queens Own Regiment in 1940 and was later commissioned into the Middlesex Regiment. During World War 2 Slade served in England until 1943 and in North Africa, Italy, and Greece until 1946, attaining the rank of Captain. Upon his return to the United Kingdom he enrolled in Imperial College. Slade returned to Canada in 1955 where he later graduated in Geological Studies from Queen's University in Kingston and University of Toronto, Ontario. For many years Slade worked in the geological field throughout Canada. He eventually became a high school teacher with the North York Board of Education as the head of Chemistry at C.W. Jefferys S.S. Slade was a sensitive lover of nature and the environment, of music and books, and especially of travel. He and Sonia enjoyed many wonderful trips and adventures together and he was busy planning another to Turkey when he became ill. His colleagues and students will remember him as a gifted teacher, a conscientious administrator and a superb mentor. Slade's many Friends will remember with affection and admiration his wide-ranging interests, his genuine concern for others, his gentlemanly nature and his indomitable spirit. His spirit soars with the eagles. A memorial to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to World Vision of Canada or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

With a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face, Nell ATTRILL (née HILL) of Courtenay, British Columbia (formerly of London, Ontario), passed away, on Sunday, May 28th, 2006 in her 89th year. Nell with be forever in the hearts of her children Jim (Barb) ATTRILL, Shirley (Russ) PRATT, Mary (Red) DEGRAW, Linda (Michael) WAN and Bonnie (Fred) ZIMMER, her 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her loving husband, Jim (1982), sisters Lillian and Louise, brothers Bob, Ted, John, Mick and Jack, and grandchildren Brad (1981), Pam (1984) and Jenn (1998). She will be laid to rest beside her husband Jim in Clandeboye, Ontario. A "Celebration of Nell's Life" will be held at: Bonnie and Fred's home at 979 Dearness Dr., London, Ontario. Died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Rouge Valley Health Centre, Centenary Site, with his wife at his side. He was a loving husband of Gwendoline, his wife of 58 years, and devoted father to daughter Nanci and son Bruce. He will be missed by his two grand_sons Kyle and Leigh, and granddaughter Kyra-Mei, as well as his sister Margaret DAVIS, son-in-law Mark SMITH and daughter-in-law Susan COATES. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Tony Stacey Centre for Veterans Care along with members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Highland Creek Branch 258 for their care and compassion over the past five years. On Friday, July 14, 2006, surrounded by the love of family and Friends, Edith peacefully departed on her final and most glorious journey. As usual, she had not only herself but also her family well prepared for her voyage. With her hand firmly held by the hand of God, she headed for her much anticipated reunion with her dear husband, Arthur Richey WHITE/WHYTE and many other family members and Friends who have been awaiting her arrival on the other side. She will be forever loved, respected and greatly missed by her daughter, Janice GILLESPIE, her grandchildren Meghan and David GILLESPIE, sisters Eileen PRATT and Hazel FARADAY (predeceased by the fourth of the 'Gill Girls', Dorothy BRENNAN,) and countless nieces and nephews and their families from coast to coast. The family extends their deep gratitude to the caring staff of Faith Manor One at Holland Christian Homes, Edith's home for the last two years. Her amazing life of 96 years will be honoured at a Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 28th, 2006, at St. Luke's United Church, 516 The Kingsway (at Kipling), in Etobicoke, with a reception following in The Centennial Room.
