Saturday, January 28, 2006, after a life full of adventure, giving and over five years of battling cancer, in comfort and free from pain, Anne passed while surrounded with her family into the hands of the Lord. Predeceased by daughter Cynthia and sister Hilda and husband Lloyd BARNES. Survived by three sisters, Frilly (Rob) MANLEY, Lucy (Stu) GRAHAM and Josephine (Sandy) SIMPSON, daughter Esther and husband Gerry CRANN, son-in-law Peter POHL and grandchildren, Marcus POHL, Jacquie (Dave) ROY, Tanya POHL, Jayson (Elena) and Justin CRANN and great-grand_son Connor Roy. Our deepest appreciation to all her caregivers, doctors, nurses, advocates and Friends at the Mississauga Trillium Health Centre, Dorothy Ley Hospice, Community Care Access Centre and The McCaul Centre for their compassionate and marvelous care of Anne throughout her illness. Special commendations to Dr. Norman HILL and his staff and associates of the Trillium for their exceptional treatment, and her Friends at the Dorothy Ley and Queensway Cathedral for their constant companionship, sharing Anne's pain and joys and for uplifting her spirits to help her continue to carry her burdens and live with dignity. Many thanks to all those who visited her over her long illness and gave support to her family. In her desire to aid others in the battle against this devastating disease she donated herself to research in the hopes to find better treatments and that a future cure can be found. Anne requested tributes be made in the form of donations to the Trillium Health Centre, Dorothy Ley Hospice and Princess Margaret Hospital to help them continue with their most valuable work. A Celebration of her Life will be held in the upcoming weeks. Interested attendees may contact the family or Nick RUITER of the Dorothy Ley Hospice for date and place.
