NIIHOLM, Leo (October 31, 1914-March 2, 2006)
Peacefully at the Harold and Grace Baker Centre, Toronto, at the age of 91, on Thursday, March 2nd, 2006. Leo was born on October 31st, 1914 in Viinistu, Estonia. He was the loving father of son Aser NIIHOLM of Toronto, and daughter Maie ILVES and her husband Dr. Riivo ILVES of Albany, New York, and adored grandfather of Katriina Larissa ILVES of Vancouver, British Columbia, and Eerik Riivo ILVES of Toronto, Ontario. Also survived by one sister, Nelly GRUBNIK and her family in Viinistu, Estonia, and one sister-in-law Liine PIIBEMANN and her family in Viinistu, Estonia. Predeceased by his wife, Elmerise, in February 1992 in Toronto. Friends and relatives are invited and may call at the Murray E. Newbigging Funeral Home, 733 Mt. Pleasant Rd. (south of Eglinton Ave.), Toronto (416-489-8811) on Thursday, March 9th, 2006 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services on Friday, March 10th, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. at York Chapel, 101 Senlac Road, North York (near Yonge and Sheppard), with burial at York Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Leo in a special way, may send a contribution to the Harold and Grace Baker Centre, 1 Northwestern Ave., Toronto, Ontario M6M 2J7, (416) 654-2889.

KIVINEN, Rene (née PIIPPONEN)
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Rene KIVINEN. Rene passed away peacefully at Saint_Joseph's Hospital on Sunday, the 26th of March 2006. Rene's boundless energy and determination were just two of the hallmarks of her life. She is greatly missed by her daughter, Erika Kivinen MILLS, her father, Onni PIIPPONEN, her brother, Veikko PIIPPONEN, her grand_son, John Paul " Jack" MILLS, II and her two "boys," Charlie and Parker. Please join us in celebrating a life lived to the fullest by a woman of remarkable character. Family and Friends will be received at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, 1585 Yonge Street (at Heath Street), commencing at two in the afternoon on Wednesday, the fifth of April 2006, with the service to follow at three in the afternoon. The celebration of Rene's life will continue at the Toronto Lawn and Tennis Club, 44 Price Street (just east of Yonge Street, south of Summerhill Avenue). In lieu of flowers, there is preference for donations to be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

The family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of Megan RUTLEDGE at the North York General Hospital on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 in her 85th year. Loving sister of Gwladys MARTIN of Toronto, Dorothy NICODEMO of Battleford, Saskatchewan and the late Janet PARK. Dear sister-in-law of William NICODEMO and Donald PARK, and the late James MARTIN. Special aunt of Bruce MARTIN, Carolyn PIITZ, Sandra PARK, Trevor PARK, Diane Knox, Terry PARK, Paul NICODEMO and their families. Megan was a voice teacher and examiner with the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto for 33 years, the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto and soprano soloist with Deer Park United Church for 21 years. The family will receive Friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home - A.W. Miles Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Eglinton Avenue East), from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, July 23. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, July 24 at 11: 00 a.m. with a reception to follow in the Leaside Room of the funeral home. Interment at Park Lawn Cemetery, Toronto. If desired, donations may be made to Deer Park United Church or the charity of your choice.

Passed away with his family by his side at Huronia District Hospital on Friday, April 21, 2006. Beloved husband of the late Eldene LOCKWOOD. Loving father of Lawrence, Reginald, Melanie (Gordon) PIITZ, Lisa (Daniel) REILLY and Richard. Grandfather of Ryan, Jeremy, Rebecca, Steven and Danielle. The family will receive Friends at the J.H. Lynn Chapel of the Carson Funeral Homes, 290 First Street, Midland (705) 526-6551 on Monday from 4-6 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 845 Yonge Street, Midland on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at 11 o'clock a.m. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Midland, Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
