Following a lengthy illness at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, on Thursday, January 12, 2006. Eileen WIGHT, beloved wife of Darwin and dear mother of Lisa (Mike) PEPALL of Burlington. She was the proud grandmother of Daniel and Anna PEPALL. She is survived by her sisters Carmen D'OLIVEIRA and Elaine SERRAO. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 19th at 1 p.m. at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 2016 Brant Street (at Blairholm) in Burlington.

Passed away at her residence, Valleyview Home for the Aged, Saint Thomas on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Glen CORNELL (1973.) Dearly loved mother of Glenda PEPPER and her husband Herb of R.R.#3, Saint Thomas, and Robert A. CORNELL and his wife Suzen of Port Stanley. Dear sister of Murray LANGILLE and his wife Winnie, and George LANGILLE and his wife Elizabeth, all of Pictou County, Nova Scotia. Also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Born in West Branch, River John, Pictou County, Nova Scotia, March 22, 1921, the daughter of the late Victor and Christina (MURRAY) LANGILLE, she came to Saint Thomas in the early 1940's. Jessie was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Lord Elgin Branch #41, Royal Canadian Legion, Saint Thomas, recently receiving her 60 year pin. At Parkwood Hospital on Saturday, May 20, 2006 Burbank Thomas "Tom" TAGGART (C.D.,) in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Lillian (SAWYER) TAGGART. Dear father of Diane BUCKLEY and Wilf ROSS of London. Dear grandfather of Ken BUCKLEY of Dorchester and Mary PEPPER of London. Dear brother of Frank (Amy) and Grove (Sharon) of British Columbia. Predeceased by brothers Jerry, Al, Les, Mickey, and Bill. Fondly remembered by special Friends Bob and Debbie VAILLANCOURT, extended family Mike and Shirlene ROSS and their children, and long-time friend Chuck COOPER. Tom will be remembered by all who knew him for his exceptional talent at scroll saw woodworking and his generosity of spirit. He was a proud veteran of the Second World War, serving his country in the Canadian Army Royal Canadian Corps of Signals from 1939-1946 (England, France, Germany and Italy), and from 1949-1969 (Canada, England, Northern, Central and Western Europe, Russia, Africa and the Middle East). The family wish to express their thanks to the Palliative Care Team at Parkwood Hospital for their care and compassion during Dad's final journey. Respecting his wishes, there will be no service, but a celebration of Tom's life will be held at a later date. Further information may be obtained by calling the family. Passed away peacefully on October 29, 2006 surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Peggy will be fondly remembered by her daughter Leanne and son-in-law Tim, her son Randy and daughter-in-law MaryAnn, her dear friend and companion Art GILBERT, her brothers Ken and Bud and their families, Travis, Matthew and Kristin, Margaret JANSEN, Carlyle JANSEN and her sons, Naz and Willem, Art's family and Peggy's huge network of Friends, bridge partners and dance companions. Peggy had a marvelous laugh, a warm smile and a wonderful passion for life that included her family, dance, travel, swimming and her faithful dog, Tasha. After a short illness, at London Health Science Centre, Victoria Hospital, on Wednesday, November 01, 2006, John Jarvis HODSON in his 85th year. John served in the British Army from 1939-1945 as a Gunner with the Royal Artillery in North Africa and Italy. John was an 8th army Veteran, Mentioned in Despatch for Distinguished Service; he emigrated to Canada in 1948. "John was a skilled wood craftsman and masterful storyteller with a specialty in 'shaggy dog' stories. He was admired by all who had the privilege of knowing his generous and gentle spirit." John was predeceased by his beloved wife Bobbe (1998). Cherished father of Chris (Bill) DAMPIER, David (Sandra) HODSON, Shelagh (Keith) BANTOCK, Rob (Susan) HODSON, and Kathryn (Thomas) BLENNERHASSETT. Devoted grandfather of Jeff (Katrina), James (Tess), Kathy (Carlton), Leslie (Jamie), John (Lucy), Scott (Cara), Paul (Lisa), Amy (Chris), Shelby, Ruby, Sam, Harry, Grace, Jack, Sam, and Lily and great-grandfather of Emma, Claire and Dylan. Born December 30, 1949, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2006. He has left behind his family who will always remember him with love and lots of smiles. Ellis passed away at Summit Place on January 8th, 2006. Born in Woodford, Ontario and grew up in St. Vincent Township. Served with the Canadian Army in Italy. Married Violet PEPPERCORN in England in 1945. Past master North Star Lodge #322, member of Scottish Rite and Royal Canadian Legion #6. Ellis will be sadly missed by his wife, Violet, children, Penny LAGACE (Marvin,) Gail LORENZ (Gerry) and Eric (Terry,) five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Ellis is survived by six sisters and two brothers. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Aleda (nee DORAN) BENEDICT and one brother Lyle.
