POPOWITCH, William " Bill" H.
Died on Saturday, January 28, 2006, in Simcoe, Ontario, after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his wife Gladys, his parents Harry and Annie POPOWITCH, his sisters Anne THIBODEAU and Mary MASSICOTTE, and his brother Peter. Bill is lovingly remembered by his daughter Dianne MICHALS (Barry;) stepdaughter Penelope PAW (Ralph;) grand_sons Steven (Lisa,) Brian (Ally) great grand_son Brett; brother John (Shirley); sister-in-law Edie nieces Janet and Catherine; nephew Gary. He will be sadly missed by his caring friend Dee PENNELL and many others. Bill was a World War 2 veteran, an amputee who served and was wounded in Europe. He was a retiree of Canadian Arsenals, and a long-time resident of Etobicoke-Lakeshore. He enjoyed golf until his recent illnesses but remained an avid hockey fan. The Family wishes to thank the medical staff at Norfolk-Haldimand Hospital for their care and kindness. At his request there will be no funeral service for Bill and he will be cremated.

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21st, 2006 at the Grey Bruce Health Services, Owen Sound in his 83rd year. Peter will be sadly missed by his family, adopted family and by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held at Chatsworth United church (Hwy. 10 and Toronto Road), Saturday, March 4th, 2006 at 11 o'clock. Memorial donations to the Canadian Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.

Born in Preston, Ontario on October 3rd, 1914. Died peacefully at Leacock Nursing Home in Orillia on Friday, March 10th, 2006 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Catherine Eugenie POWELL (née MacDONALD.) Lovingly remembered by his eight children: Elaine GIBSON of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Donald (Ive) of Toronto, Mary SAJECKI (Edward) of Mississauga, Anne ROSS (Jamie) of Orillia, Frances RENNIE (Don) of Ottawa, Patricia HARTMAN (John) of Lafontaine, John (Kim) of New Zealand and Joan MacMILLAN (James) of Ossossane Beach, and his 21 grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Anna PAWELKO, his sisters Kaye and Josephine, and his brothers John and Frank. Major POWELL faithfully served his country for 31 years, including overseas for the entirety of World War 2, and with the first United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Lebanon, 1958-1959. After retiring from the military, he designed and constructed a home in the country and became a gentleman farmer. He was a lover of nature and keenly interested in protection of the environment. Friends may call at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Ave., Midland on Sunday March 12th from 2-5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Perkinsfield on Monday March 13th at 3 p.m. Spring interment at Saint Margaret's Cemetery, Midland. If desired, memorial donations to the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Special thanks for the empathy and care shown by the staff of the Leacock Nursing Home.

Dearly loved husband of Margaret (WIEBE) MOLCJAN and loved father of Lyda Ann and her husband Henry STERCZEWSKI of Cambridge and Timothy David and his wife Karen MOLCJAN of Orangeville. Dear brother of Alicja PAWLAK, Alfreda (PODLEKSI) and her husband Charlie ROBERTS and Maria and her husband Roy WAKELY of Saint Thomas and Greta EIFERT of Montreal. Loved grandfather of Matthew, Emily, Chynna, Trevor and Olivia. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Jan was born in Poland on June 8, 1937, the son of Emil and Lydia MOLCJAN. He was an ordained Pastor and a member of the Good News Christian Centre. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11: 00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. GARDNER, Helena " Eileen" (née KAVANAGH) (1939-2006)
Passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, after a very courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, July 10 in her 68th year. Proud and honoured to be her children are Debbie and Kieth DICKEY, Penny and Barry HAUCK and Gary GARDNER and his wife Maria. Eileen will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Kyle and Tori DICKEY, Mandy and Rob PAWLEWICZ, Phillip MILLER, Brandon HAUCK and Anna-Marie and Nicholas GARDNER. Cherished great-grandmother of Julia PAWLEWICZ. Very loving sister of Margaret (Quilly), Cyprian, Michael, Patrick and Jer. Mom has moved on to be reunited with her husband Roy and her parents Michael and Mary. Eileen was a member of the K-W Naval Association. She retired from Grand River Hospital after 30 Years of service. Mom loved to spend her summers at her cottage enjoying nature, and it was there that she spent her final days. Friends are invited to share their memories of Eileen with her family at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home 171 King Street South in Waterloo on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Parish Prayers will be held at 8: 45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Eileen's life will be held at St. Teresa's R.C. Cathy was a devoted member of Kingsview United Church, tireless volunteer and community worker for over 50 years. Wife of the late Roy LEE. Loving mother of Scott LEE and his wife Brenda, Linda PAWLOWITSCH, and Brett LEE and his wife Kym. Beloved grandmother of Thomas and Nicolas PAWLOWITSCH, Cooper and Kieran KELLOWAY- LEE, and Mackenzie LEE. Sister of Gordon COOPER and his wife Ruth of Flesherton, Craig COOPER and his wife Lorrie of Acton, Lorraine PHILLIPS of Toronto and Lenore COOPER of Mississauga. Cathy will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Cathy was passionate about helping people and was a friend to all. KAYLER, Phyllis Marie (BRISLEY)
Passed away peacefully on May 7, 2006 at the age of 85 years, at Central Park Lodge in Toronto. Phyllis joins her beloved husband Reg, predeceased in 1992, and her dear parents Bonnie and Ted. Phyllis lived a full and active life that was deeply guided by her faith. She had a love of music, nature, and animals, and cherished the farm retreat at Acton that she and Reg tended lovingly over the years. Phyllis was devoted to her immediate and extended family. She was a steadfast and loyal friend who brought much happiness into the lives of others, and in her quiet way helped others less fortunate than herself through a variety of community, volunteer, and church activities. Phyllis was predeceased by her brothers Bill and Charlie, and her sisters Ruth and Adele. She is sadly missed but fondly remembered by her children Cath, Doug, and Grant; her beloved grandchildren Sarah, Christopher, Stephanie, Allison, and Nicholas; sisters-in-law June and Marion BRISLEY; nieces and nephews David (Judy,) Margaret, Paul (Carol,) and Bonnie; cousin Trevor (Lolly) PAWSON; her lifelong Friends from the Class of '43 "Pic o' Vic" Bridge Club, and many other family members and Friends she kept in touch with over the years.
