POLLARD, George William (1913-2006)
Passed from death into life at Riverbend Place, Galt, September 17, 2006. Beloved husband for 69 years of May (née ROCHE,) also of Riverbend Place, Galt. Beloved father of Brian (Gail) of Ibiza, Spain, Judith (Rev. John SMITH), Hamilton, Ontario, and Janice (Robert ROWE,) Kingston, Ontario. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Ernest POLLARD and his wife Bessie, the late Gladys and the late Walter BASAINT_Grandfather and great-grandfather of Nieves POLLARD (Gaston DEZA) and their daughter Jazmin of Ibiza, Spain, Hayley Smith POST (Isaac) of Washington, D.C., Drew SMITH, Hamilton, Jock SMITH, Hamilton, Travis (Susan) ROWE and their sons Miles and Everett of Aurora, Ben (Colleen) ROWE and their daughters Peyton and Katie of Belleville, Olivia and Jeff OVENS of Kingston. George was born in Preston, Ontario in 1913 to Catherine (née GATEHOUSE) and George POLLARD. In his infancy, the family returned to England (Fenny Stratford, Bucks) and returned to Preston ten years later. He was well known as a middle distance runner in his young years in Waterloo County. He served with the Highland Light Infantry during World War 2 as an Officer (The Battle of the Scheldt). After the War, he joined the Ministry of Correctional Services. He served as one of Ontario's first Adult Probation Officers, then institutions in Galt, Guelph Reformatory and was Superintendent of Brookside School in Cobourg for 20 years. They retired in Preston. He was a lifelong member of King Street Baptist Church in Preston and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cobourg for many years. His was a life well-lived. Our dad and grandfather will be greatly missed. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2nd Timothy 4.7 A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge, Ontario at 1 o'clock, with a reception to follow at Riverbend Place with May and her family. Peacefully, at Maple Manor Nursing Home on Saturday April 8, 2006 Cecil Max BALL of Tillsonburg in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of 64 years to his wife Margaret Jean BALL (nee: ROBERTSON.) Dear father of Sharon BALL- SCHAD of Thornhill; Shelly (Gordon) OVER of Lakefield; Gordon (Beth) BALL of London. Devoted "Grandpa" to Brandon (Kelly) SCHAD of Richmond Hill; Fraser (Becky) SCHAD of Toronto; Nathaniel OVER of Lakefield; Allison BALL of London Matt BALL of London. Also, survived by his sister-in-laws Alta BALL of Aylmer; Maxine (Bob) ANDERSON of Brockville; Shirley ROBERTSON of Streetsville. Cecil was predeceased by a brothers Mack and his wife Helen BALL of Eden; R.C. BALL of Alymer. Cecil was an Insurance Underwriter for many years in the Tillsonburg area until his retirement. He was also a graduate of the Ontario Agriculture College in Guelph in 1937. At Cecil's request there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Suddenly, at his home, on Thursday, April 6, 2006, Albert Ciryl DEPONT of Strathroy, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Antoinette DEPONT. Loving father of Arlette and Jean-Claude COQU, Francine and Alain DRUVENT, Nicole DEPONT and Pinot BERTINI, Claudette and Andre POISSONNIER, Regine and Jacques OLVIER, Jocelyne SIX and Dale LEIFSO, and Paola DEPONT and her husband George OVERBEEK and grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of George and Godelieve DEPONT, Marcel and Jeannine DEPONT and Arsene (2004) and Cecile DEPONT. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation was held at Denning Bros. Funeral Home, Strathroy, on Friday, April 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where a funeral service, officiated by Father John SHARP, was held on Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m. followed by cremation. Donations to your charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. A tree will be planted as a living memorial to Albert.

(December 31, 1922-April 9, 2006)
Peacefully, with her family by her side, Grace passed on after a brief battle with cancer. Predeceased by husbands Elio TOFFOLI and Andrew OVERCHUK, brothers Domenic, James, Frank, Edward and sister Lorraine (Paul) WATSON. Devoted mother to Ron (Barbara,) Leo (Sharon) and John (Tina). Loving grandma to Ron, Robert, Lorraine, Lisa, Matthew and Grace. Greatly missed by brothers Laurence, Reg, Alan and sister Jeanette, as well as brother-in-law Archie (Marie) TOFFOLI and sisters-in-law Margaret, Shirley, Emma and Shirley. She will be held dear in the hearts of her great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as Canada Bread, Florida and East York Friends. Her kindness and warmth touched the hearts of many people. Friends and family will be received at Highland Funeral Home at 3280 Sheppard Avenue East, just west of Warden Avenue from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2006. In her 93rd year went to her eternal home peacefully at Huronview, Clinton, Ontario on Wednesday, February 1, 2006. Beloved wife for 14 years of the late Murdock M. MORRISON (2004) and for 50 years of the late George O. CUNNINGHAM (1988.) Daughter of the late James Allison Shepperd DALE (1952) and the late Ida May STEVENS (1959.) Loving mother of Ronald (Bernice) CUNNINGHAM of Lindsay and the late David (1997) (Loreena) CUNNINGHAM of Salford. Lovingly remembered by 5 grandchildren Raymond (Leanne), Melinda, Susan (Omar), Chris (Sandy) and Kyla and 5 great-grandchildren. Also missed by step-children Mildred and Doug McASH, Varna, Murray and Peggy MORRISON, Ilderton, Paul MORRISON and Helen OVERHOLT, Zurich; Robert and Mavis MORRISON, Blyth; and Gary MORRISON, Listowel; and 13 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Martha SMITH, Kingsville and Josie (Jack) HARDING, London. Predeceased by brothers Allison, Ernest, Elmer and Carman DALE and sisters Myrtle READ and Ethel SMITH. By Jessie's request there will be no funeral home visitation. A private funeral service will be held at the Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd., 153 High Street, Clinton on Friday, February 3, 2006. SIMPSON, Jean
Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday March 5, 2006, at the Tufford Nursing Home, St. Catharines in her 93rd year. Jean is predeceased by her husband Peter SIMPSON. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Peter and Kelly SIMPSON of Niagara on the Lake and Betty BAXTER of St. Catharines and friend Ken NICHOLS. Cherished grandmother of Paul and Jane OVERHOLT of Calgary, Lianne and Ken STEVENS of Welland and Ashley SIMPSON and Taylor SIMPSON of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Great grandmother of Gregory, Alexandra, Carson and Haley. Survived by her sister, Hazel McCARTNEY and brother, Robert McLACHLAN and by many dearly loved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters-in-law Barbara BURROWS and Muriel McLACHLAN and brothers-in-law Jack BURROWS and Wilson McCARTNEY. Jean was an avid gardener and was respected and loved by her neighbours and Friends. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, London, Ontario. A kind, strong lady whose positive words and actions blanketed our entire family with love. Jean's grace and maturity was an inspiration to all of us. Jean had many Friends in Seaforth and St. Catharines who visited her regularly and they will sadly miss her. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place Thursday March 9th from 10: 00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the Egmondville United Church. The service to celebrate Jean's life will be held at 11: 15 a.m. following the visitation. A luncheon will follow. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Seaforth Community Hospital or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. As a tribute of Jean's life a tree will be planted in her memory. A memorial service will take place at First Grantham United Church, St. Catharines on Saturday March 25, 2006. Time to be announced. Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at London Health Sciences Centre Victoria Campus on November 12, 2006, Geraldine Lois HAWKE in her 76th year. Dear mother of Tim DILLON (Jane McCLINCHEY) and David (Mary) DILLON. Cherished grandmother of Violet. Predeceased by her parents, Lloyd and Viola HAWKE, son Donald, and brother-in-law Winston YOUNG. Beloved sister of Mary Jane YOUNG, Pat (Frank) OVERHOLT, Arlene (Jerry) DOUGHERTY and Billie (Andy) BREGG. After a long illness, John died peacefully at home in London, England, on the 26th of October, 2006, aged 72. A loving husband to Sheila and dear father to Louise (Nick) and Caroline. Proud Papa to Tiggy, Scarlett and Archie. Formerly of Brantford, John will be missed by his brother Doctor Bluett OVERHOLT (Nan) and his sister Susan WILDER (David,) and his great life-long Friends Bill and Margie ANDREWS, and many Friends on both sides of the Atlantic. Funeral will be held in London, England, on Friday, November 3rd.

At Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, January 28, 2006. Floyd "Bus" Earl HARRIS of Saint Thomas in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Rose Mary (McMILLAN) HARRIS. Loving father of Suzanne OVERTON and husband Richard of Strathroy, Victoria CONROY of London and Peter HARRIS of Saint Thomas. Dear brother-in-law of Gord ABEL, Ron AXTELL and Florence McMILLAN. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 5 sisters Margaret MATTHEWS, Velma SCHOUPPE, Gladys AXTELL, Leitta ABEL and Helen HARRIS. Born in Delmer on September 21, 1920 son of the late Earl and Evaline (ESSELTINE) HARRIS. Floyd served overseas in World War 2 in the Royal Canadian Armour Corp. and in Alberta in the Princess Pat Louise Guards. He was a chicken farmer at Yarmouth Centre for many years and a member of the New Sarum Baptist Church. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 31, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. Cremation will follow with interment of ashes in the Delmer Cemetery. Beloved wife of Klaus (Nick) and dear mother of Hubert and Janet VON WUTHENAU of London, Mick and Elisha VON WUTHENAU of Beamsville, Veronika and Jeremy OVERTON of Oakville and Martin and Shannon VON WUTHENAU of Grimsby. Loving grandmother of Nicholas, Kyra, Zachariah, Anastaisa, Maximilian and Cecilia. Also survived by sister Betty NOVAK of Beamsville and two brothers and three sisters in Europe.
