ORFORD--In memory of Delbert
ORFORD,
January 5, 1924 - January 8, 2005.
God took him home it was his will
But in our hearts we love him still.
His memory is as dear today
As in the hour he passed away.
We often sit and think of him
When we are all alone.
For memory is the only friend
That grief can call its own.
Forever loved and missed, Lois
ORFORD and families.

John "
Jack"
William
ORFORD
In loving memory of John "Jack" William Orford who passed away peacefully
surrounded with family on Friday, April 7, 2006 at the age of 68 years. Knew
all and was known by all. For over 30 years Jack owned and operated the Sale
Barn in Little Current, buying and selling livestock (except for goats) and
trucked. Usually working six days a week, he relaxed on Sunday driving out
to the farm to check on the cows. Trucking was a passion to Jack, he did
feed delivery all over, trucked cedar posts and slabs to the States, picked
up, or delivered animals to farms or sale barns. He was seen at all hours of
the day and night continuing on his quest of fulfilling the customer's
request. Even in the last weeks Jack was still dedicated to his business
trying to make arrangements to meet the needs of his loyal customers.
Biography was his favourite show and he loved to relax and enjoy a hockey or
baseball game on TV. He shared with A.J. the love of McDonald's, and enjoyed
the coffee shop comradery. Born to John and Mary Orford on September 17,
1937. Predeceased by his beloved wife Alma Jean (née Bowser). Cherished by
his only daughter Norma Jean Orford and husband Ed Steeves. Wonderful
grandpa of Joey and A.J. Will be missed by siblings Pat Best (husband Ed
predeceased), Don and wife Anna Orford, Lois and husband Roger Newton, Floyd
and wife Gaynor Orford, Murray and wife Ruth Orford, Marion and husband Ian
Holm, Doug and wife Sylvia Orford. Remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was 7 - 9 Sunday and Monday. Funeral Service was at 2 pm,
Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Island Funeral Home. Reverend Frank Haner
officiating. Burial at Kagawong Cemetery. Donations to Manitoulin Health Center Auxiliary or to
NEORC (cancer research) would be greatly appreciated.
