TIBBETTS,
Robert
William
(October 27, 1927-September 14, 2006)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our
beloved Dad, Grandfather and dear friend. Predeceased by his
loving wife Shirley (1987). 'Bob' will be deeply missed by his
children Deborah (Niels
NOHR,)
Susan
(Ron
FERRARO) and Mark (Teresa
TIBBETTS.)
Bob always had a special place in his heart for his
11 grandchildren, Zach, Kyle, Jeff, Conor, Alison (1987), Kris,
Max, Stephanie, Sam, Lexi and Harry. Dad was born in Toronto,
Ontario and grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta where he developed
a passion for flying. Fulfilling his dream, 'R.W.' joined Trans
Canada Airlines in 1950 where he enjoyed a distinguished 36 year
career. He retired as a senior Boeing-747 Air Canada Captain
in 1986. Dad's love of flying was obvious to those around him
and he encouraged and assisted many young aviators to follow
in his footsteps. We will always remember Dad for his generosity,
intelligence, sense of humour, quick wit, and his attention to
detail. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy,
and together we spent many hours enjoying life's simple pleasures.
Rested at the Gilbert MacIntyre and son Funeral Home, 'Dublin Chapel',
252 Dublin Street North, Guelph. Cremation has taken place. Dad
will be laid to rest beside his wife Shirley in Victoria, British
Columbia Dad, you've finally reached the 'big hangar in the sky'.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hospice Wellington Building
Fund or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by
the family (cards available at the funeral home, or condolences
may be sent to www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com).
