Passed away at Kingston General Hospital on January 8, 2006 in his 77th year. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth, and brothers Jack and Ken. He is survived by children Bruce (Deborah), Susan (Ziggy MADHANY), Linda, and Jackie (Bill MAUCERI; grandchildren Justin, Jason, Jolyne, William Sean, Sean James, Samantha, Alex, Meghan, Jacob, and Ryley; brothers George, Ian, and Doug; sisters Marguerite and Mary; and cousin Archie WILLETT. Daughter of the late Charles and Geraldine REINBOTH of Jabalpur, India, died peacefully at her home in Toronto on March 5, 2006, in the presence of her nieces Christina LOCHRIE (Toronto,) Iris VAN KESTEREN (Delray Beach, Florida) and Valerie WILKIN (Whitby) after a long battle with breast cancer. Pauline, the second youngest of eleven children is survived by her brother, Gerald REINBOTH of Victoria, British Columbia; her sisters Merle DUCKWORTH of Toronto, and Eunice MAUCHLINE- JONES of Chemanus, British Columbia. Pauline's extended family also includes many nieces and nephews and their families in Canada, U.S.A., Belgium, India, Australia and Malaysia. Born in Felixstowe, County Suffolk, England, December 25, 1923, the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Alice (PARNELL) PARTRIDGE. Pat was an active member of St. Hilda's-St. Luke's Anglican Church, Saint Thomas, being a member of the Altar Guild of the church. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Central Star Chapter #57, O.E.S. and a Past District Deputy Grand Matron of District #4, O.E.S. During the Second World War, she was a member of England's National Fire Service, working in Essex and London. ELDER, John Munro, M.D.
John Munro ELDER, husband, father, grandfather and pediatrician to many generations of young Montrealers, died early Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, at the age of 82, after a lengthy battle with dementia, compounded by heart and respiratory illness. He is survived by his wife, Janet, and children Matthew (Jane BAKER,) Katharine (James DEACON) and Stephen (Josee MAURICE,) and son-in-law David POWELL, and eight grandchildren. His daughter Judith died in 2002. John represented the third generation of physicians in the ELDER family, all of whom were educated at McGill University, and prominent staff members of the university's teaching hospitals. He served in the Royal Canadian Artillery in northwest Europe during the Second World War. After the war, John returned to McGill, entering the Medical School in 1947. He married Janet DICKSON/DIXON on December 27, 1949. He graduated from McGill Medical School in 1951 and, after specializing in Pediatrics, entered private practice in 1956. A mong his many positions and achievements, John was medical director of the Mackay Centre (handicapped children), founding director of the Montreal Children's Hospital Adolescent Clinic, director of the Montreal General Hospital Newborn Nursery, a board member of Camp Amy Molson and on the staff of the Children's Service Centre. He is a past president of the Canadian Paediatric Society. His dedication to youth extended to the educational community, and he served several years as a commissioner for the Westmount Protestant School Board. John retired in 1997, but remained beloved by his former patients, some of whom would greet him on his frequent walks in his neighbourhood. His non-professional interests over the years included reading, golf, sailing and, above all, tending to the trees and shrubs at his beloved property at Lake Manitou. He was a dinnertime raconteur who loved the company of all age groups, even the youngest - not surprising, given his chosen profession. The funeral will take place Friday, November 17, 2006, at 2: 00 p.m. at the chapel of Wray Walton Wray, 5610 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal (corner Marcil Avenue). It is with great sorrow we announce the unexpected death of Dale Alwyn George PARKINSON on November 27, 2006. Remaining to celebrate his rich life are his children Jane PARKINSON (Leon COLE,) Janet MONKS (Greg), Brett PARKINSON (Janet PAYNE) and Shanley PARKINSON, mother of his children. Dale is also survived by his grandchildren Eden, Abigail and Benjamin MONKS, his stepgrandchildren Ryan PAYNE, Denise and Reed MONKS and his special friend Ingeborg KOOL. He was predeceased by his father George PARKINSON, his mother, Alicia PARKINSON and his brother Dion PARKINSON. Dale was born on September 2, 1941, in Rochdale, England. He lived his early years in Duff, Saskatchewan, and never lost his love of the prairies. He moved to Winnipeg with his family at 12 years old and eventually graduated from the University of Manitoba as a Chartered Accountant in 1967. His career at Investors Group spanned four decades where his dedication, hard work and integrity resulted in many appointments until he retired from the position of Executive Vice-President, Investors Group Inc., in 1999. He continued to serve the company as a consultant, Chairman of the Board and Director of Investors Group Trust Co., and President and Director I.G. Resources Inc. Dale was also currently Chairman of the Board, The International Scholarship Foundation, Committee Chair of the Audit, Finance and Risk Management Committee and member of the Governance, Investment, Educational Policy and Scholarship IT Strategy Committees. Dale was also a director of Scholarship Consultants of North America Ltd; Isitaboyorgirl. Inc; University Scholarships Canada Inc; and Chairman of the Board of the Trust Company of London Life, and a member of the University of Manitoba Board of Governors Finance Committee. Dale was also currently Director and Vice-President and Lifetime Sponsor of the National Board of Ducks Unlimited, Cda. Dale also dedicated a great deal of his time to serving his community including the United Way, Hospice, Ducks Unlimited, and Assiniboine Park Rangers and many others. Dale was a man of great wisdom, a strong and dedicated leader who brought his deep sense of pride and integrity to everything he did. Many will remember him as one who could be relied upon for wise counsel and for his devotion to mentoring others and helping them achieve their dreams. Dale touched the lives of countless people and was loved and respected by all who knew him. Dale was a very proud Winnipegger and a patriotic Canadian who loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and napping in the sun at his cabin at Clearwater Bay. Dad was a great lover of music and of his three dogs Admiral, Columbus and Ptarmigan. No one will forget his keen sense of humour, his endless supply of jokes, his penchant for nicknaming those he cared about, and his contagious laugh. But Dale will be remembered most of all for his unconditional love and devotion to his family. Not only was he a dedicated husband and father but a very good friend and confidant to all of his children. His unwavering support and love made him a place of safety and refuge for his children always. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lori Lee ROBINSON- GALLANT, 38, Dieppe, New Brunswick, formerly of Tillsonburg, Ontario, on Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, New Brunswick. Born March 5, 1967 in Tillsonburg, Ontario, she was the daughter of Shirley (MAUTHE) ROBINSON and Larry ROBINSON. Lori attended Tillson Ave. Public School and Annandale District High School in Tillsonburg, Ontario and Moncton High in New Brunswick. After graduation, she moved to Halifax where she opened a clothing store, then attended Dalhousie University. Lori and Sandy were married August 27, 1994 and shortly thereafter, started their family. Lori will be remembered for her sense of humour, quick wit, and for being a loving wife and devoted mother. She is survived by her husband Sandy GALLANT; her two beautiful daughters, Lauren (8) and Emily (2;) mother, Shirley ROBINSON; father, Larry ROBINSON (Lucille) paternal grandmother Kathleen ROBINSON; brother, Jeff ROBINSON (Diane;) sister, Gidgit ROBINSON (Shayne;) and many caring aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and Friends. She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Vera and Henry MAUTHE; her great-grandmother, Olive "Granny" ROBINSON; paternal grandfather, Leo ROBINSON and uncle, Hugh MAUTHE. After her second brave battle with cancer and a sudden stroke, Carolyn passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Thursday December 7, 2006. Predeceased by her parents Geraldine and Earle KELLOUGH, her laughter and zest for life will be greatly missed by husband Paul, daughter Tracey, son Jason (Lydia), and granddaughter Kayla. She will be fondly remembered by her siblings and dear Friends Sally CARRUTHERS (Richard) and Robert KELLOUGH, and nephews Campion and Tom (April.)
