In loving memory of Marnie Lloyd, 73 years of Sudbury, who passed away
Friday evening March 24 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, St. Joseph's
Health Centre. Born in Toronto, Marnie graduated from Wellesley Nursing
College in 1954 and practiced nursing in Mindemoya where she met her husband
Bob. Marnie married Bob in 1957 in Sudbury and continued her profession at
the Memorial Hospital. Marnie left nursing in 1966 to turn her attention to
her growing family. She volunteered regularly at Extendicare Falconbridge
and was an avid swimmer. A woman of faith she was an active member of the
ACW at the Church of the Ascension where she was involved in several
different groups. She looked forward to Sunday worship and coffee time
following church. As a summer resident of Manitoulin Island she enjoyed the
family cottage, boating, fishing and socializing with family and Friends.
Marnie was devoted to her loving family. Beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Lloyd
(predeceased) of Sudbury. Loving mother of Tim (Virginia) of Sudbury, Graham
(wife Line) of Sturgeon Falls, Chris (wife Sue), and Leanne Welch (Doug)
both of Sudbury. Cherished Grandmother of Amie Anne, April, Joleil, Ashley,
Kara, Andrew and Jenna. Dear daughter of Harley and Myrtle Ennis,
predeceased, dear sister of Joan Drummond of Kitchener, Ontario. Sadly
missed by many brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews and her wide

who died when Norm was 5 years old. His grandmother Eliza

(1973), whom Norm highly respected and loved dearly, stepped
in to raise him and his siblings, George (1991), Ross (1972),
Marguerite and Malcolm (1987)
MacDONALD of Sarnia, and William
and his wife Ida, also of Sarnia. Norm's father re-married Jessie
DALGHIESH (1985) and had two sons, Norm's half brothers James
(1984) and Gerald and his wife Gladys of Trenton. At the age
of 16, Norm went to Malartic, Quebec to work in the gold mines
with his father. He joined the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1941
in Noranda, Quebec and went overseas in September. He was on
Active Service in England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany,
including the D-Day landings on Juno Beach. He returned to Canada
in '45 and worked in the mines until coming to Sarnia in '50
to work in the insulation business, mainly building the plants
in the Chemical Valley, eventually purchasing Commercial and Industrial
Insulation in '76 and selling it in '82. He owned and developed
Forest Golf and Country Hotel from '58 til '89. Not liking retirement,
together with his son David, he purchased and developed Bonnie
Doon Golf and Country Club. Norm loved sports. He played hockey
when he was young and of course enjoyed golf. He was a great
curler and a Lifetime Member of the Forest Curling Club. In later
years he was a great spectator, especially whenever Dale and
Julie played. Norm lived a very full life. Beneath the often
gruff exterior lay a heart of gold, one to which is much-loved
grandchildren and step-grandchildren can attest. He had many
Friends and was a good husband and father. He did a lot of good
in the community that no one ever new about. Resting at the Ronn

formerly of Toronto, Tom is survived by his brothers Clarke and
Peter. A Veteran of World War 2, Tom served in the Navy. His
working life was spent with the Quaker Oats Company. A community
minded man Tom was a former member of the Brampton town council.
He was an active member of Powassan Lodge No. 443, Ancient, Free
and Accepted Masons, the Rorab Shrine Club, the North Bay Heritage
Railway and Community Waterfront Friends. He especially enjoyed
his time as "Loco", with the Shrine Clown Unit. He was honoured
several years ago by North Himsworth Township as their Senior
Citizen of the Year. Friends may call at the Martyn Funeral Home
(across from city hall), North Bay, on Tuesday afternoon 2-4 p.m.
and evening 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will
be held in the funeral home Chapel on Wednesday, April 19th at
1: 30 p.m. Cremation will follow with interment of ashes in the
Callander Union Cemetery. If desired, donations to the North
Bay Regional Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Sneaker Fund
