VANTOL, Peter " Petrus"
Of Saint Thomas, Ontario passed away in his home on May 29, 2006 in his 72nd year. Loving husband of Sheila GREGORY- VANTOL of Saint Thomas. Peter was born in Hofddaorp, Holland, son of the late Theodorus VAN TOL and Cornelia (née POUW) VAN TOL. Peter immigrated to Canada in 1960 and became a Canadian Citizen in 1965. Loving helpful step-father of Harold GREGORY (Carol,) Pauline NICHOLLS- TRISKA (Chris), Cathy LIRETTE (Dave), Michael GREGORY (Janice,) Darren (Woody,) Gregory (Krystle,) Tara REGO (Dave.) Proud Poppa of Nathan, Chrissy-Lynn, Christopher, Corey, Stevie-Lynn, Jessica, Shawn, James, Shawna, Lina, David and Dylan. Dear brother of Gys of British Columbia, Canada; Han, Leo, Cilia, Bep, Wil, An, Cor, Fraak and predeceased by brothers Ben, Theo, and sister Thea, all of the Netherlands. Dear brother-in-law of Dianne, Wendy (Daryl), Becky (Brad), all of British Columbia, Brenda of Sarnia, John (Wendy) of Watford, Stan (Ann) of Australia predeceased by brother-in-law Jim (James) CLEMENTS, and special friend of Wanda CLEMENTS. At Peter's request, a private family service with cremation and interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens has been held. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. GUNNELL, Dorothy (formerly LANGSTON)
Suddenly, in Niagara-On-The-Lake on January 17, 2006, in her 80th year. Loving mother of Penny LIRETTE (Peter DUGGAN) and Russell LANGSTON (Lynda.) Proud and cherished "Nanny" and "Grand-Nan" to Reece LIRETTE (Teresa), Rachel, Mark, Jessica, and great-grandchildren Brianna and Dawson. Dorothy will be missed by her step-sons Eric (Susan) and Jeff (Susan) GUNNELL, and step-grandchildren Erin, Kevin, and Kyra, as well as her faithful companion "Danny". Dorothy is predeceased by two husbands, Robert LANGSTON (1980) and Frank GUNNELL (2004.) A memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock on Saturday, January 21, 2006, at Saint Mark's Anglican Church, Niagara-On-The-Lake. A Private Committal will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Niagara-On-The-Lake Chapel of the Morgan Funeral Homes. ELKAN, Valentina (née BLAUBERG)
Born in St. Petersburg, Russia on March 8, 1916, died at home in Toronto on September 25, 2006. Predeceased by her beloved first husband Lucas ACLIROS, and her second husband Tibor ELKAN. Mourned by her dear older sister Ludmilla DJURKOVIC and husband Vlado (Melbourne, Australia,) and cousin Karin HASBARGEN and husband Freerk (Denmark, Australia). Much missed by her sons Serge Liros (Blue Hill, Maine) and friend Kathy BEAL, Alex LIROS (Toronto) and George LIROS (Easton, Pennsylvania.) Lovingly remembered by her four grand-daughters: Nicole SIMMS and husband Jonathan and their two children Dylan and Hannah (Schenectady, New York), Christina LIROS and Joe RICHARDS (Greenville, Maine), Sara VEGA- LIROS and Janice and their family (Turner's Falls, Massachusetts), and Alexandra LIROS (Greenville, Maine.) Also missed by her best and oldest Friends: Herta and Tony HITZELBERGER (Kelowna, B.C.,) Agnes LANTOS and her sister (Toronto,) and Ludmilla SEMENA (Ottawa.) Very fondly remember by many Friends and neighbours, and by her devoted bridge partners. She was an elegant lady, a former art dealer with a keen and enquiring eye, and a generous and loving matriarch of the Liros family.
