HELBIG,
Marian
Mom left the stage suddenly on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 in the
middle of a brilliant set. She was a singer, model, mother, grandmother
extraordinaire, and passionate friend who leaves a devastating
hole in our lives. We will miss her sense of humour, her style,
her beauty and grace, and most of all her incredible warmth and
devotion to her family. Mom would want us to remember her long
years of cottage freeloading, berry picking and freestyle swimming,
globetrotting with kindred spirits, and many nights of jazz to
which she brought her inimitable zest and insouciance. We also
remember the talented dressmaker, fabulous cook, and hostess
who made each legendary Christmas party a destination. We will
terribly miss watching the Leafs, doing crosswords and wonderful
conversation with this proud Canadian and protoenvironmentalist.
She survived in the face of lupus for over 45 years, and taught
us to aspire to her noble example. We'll make certain her memory
stays alive and bright in her grandchildren's lives. Marian will
be deeply missed by her children Karla
RODGERS,
Avril
