kindness and support during the illness and passing of a loving
husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Our deepest
gratitude to Dr.
KUMAR and the wonderful nurses in the Critical
Care Unit and step down and to nurse Shelley on 4th floor of
G.B.H.S. for the love and care given to Tom. Heartfelt thanks
to all who sent food to our homes, inquiries by phone, sent beautiful
flowers, sympathy cards and for donations to Church, hospital
and other charities in memory of Tom. Special thanks to Pastor
Leslie SEARLES for many visits and prayers and for the kind and
comforting words in the funeral service. Thanks to Larry and
Robert who read eulogies of Grandpa's life, Lisa for her reading
of the 23rd Psalm, Ashley who prepared the special music and
to our ten grand_sons who acted as Pallbearers. We appreciate
all who came from near and far to visit or attend the funeral
which showed us the place Tom held in the hearts of the people

to every detail making the loss easier for us to bear. Grateful

Hugh MURRAY, formerly of Hamilton and Burlington Ontario, passed
away at Rockwood Terrace in Durham, Ontario, February 27, 2006.
He was 94. He was predeceased in 1978 by his beloved wife Evelyn
(STODDART.)
Much loved brother, he was also predeceased by sisters
Claire (CROSS) and Helen
(GAGNON.) He will be greatly missed
by daughters Judith

and Jane MacKAY of Mount Forest and his grand_sons Joseph
MacKAY
of Brussels, Belgium and Stephen
MacKAY of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, November 15, 1911 to Grace
(TRELEAVEN)
and Hugh MURRAY,
Hugh attended Delta Collegiate where he was
active in football, basketball and the student council. He became
an insurance adjustor with Angell and West in Toronto and served
as President of the Ontario Insurance Adjusters' Association
from 1947-48. In 1948 he joined Morden and Helwig in Hamilton
and later became Hamilton Branch Manager for Underwriter's Adjustment
Bureau. In the late '50s, he formed the partnership of Hugh Murray
and Associates. He was a long-time member of The Hugh Murray
Lodge, founded in 1922 and named after his grandfather. In 1972,
Hugh and Evelyn moved to the Durham area where they enjoyed a
few wonderful retirement years together until Evelyn's untimely
death in 1978. For the next 28 years, Hugh was actively involved
with The Saugeen Field Naturalists Society, Saugeen Valley Conservation
Authority, Hanover and District Hospital Auxiliary, Durham Art
Gallery Board of Directors, Saugeen Bach Choir and Extend-a-family.
Hugh enjoyed a healthy, active life. His love of nature started
in his youth with summers in Muskoka and continued at the family
cottage in Haliburton. Strong and athletic, Hugh was proud of
his football heritage which began with his father who played
for the Hamilton Wildcats. He maintained close Friendships with
members of the Delta Football Team and a group from Ryerson Church
Sunday School with whom he went on fishing trips. The family
sends sincere thanks to Dr.

Hospital, Dr.
WALLEY of Durham and the caring staff
of Rockwood Terrace which has been Hugh's home for the past four
years. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations
be made to Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority Foundation or
Rockwood Terrace, Durham, Ontario. Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held at McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, 166
Bruce Street North, Durham, Ontario N0G 1R0 (519 369 3837) on
Thursday, March 2 from 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A memorial
service will be held at Rockwood Terrace, 575 Saddler Street
East in Durham on Friday, March 3 at 2: 00 pm.
