KONSTANTINIDIS, Paraskevi " Vivian" (née KOUMOUTSIDIS)
37, Halifax, died February 2, 2006, in the Victoria General Site, QEII. She was born September 30, 1968 in London, Ontario to Greek immigrant parents, Paraskevas "Peter" KOUMOUTSIDIS and Panagiota "Betty" KOUMOUTSIDIS. She was married in July of 1993 in Athens, Greece. She lived in London, Ontario until 1996, in Lethbridge, Alberta, until 1998, and in Halifax since 1998. She was unselfish and caring, and had a charming and outgoing personality. She made many good Friends in every place she went to. She battled breast cancer for about 3.5 years with stunning determination. Surviving are husband, Stavros KONSTANTINIDIS; daughter, Georgia (eight years old), Halifax; brother, Dimitrios "Jimmy", London, Ontario; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Arrangements have been entrusted to T.K. Barnard Funeral Home, 3460 Dutch Village Rd., Halifax. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, in Greek Orthodox Church, 38 Purcells Cove Rd., Father Panagiotis "Peter" Maropoulos. Interment in Fairview Cemetery. Donations may be made to Great Orthodox Church, Breast Cancer Research or Canadian Cancer Society.

AZIZ, Catherine Julia " Kitty"
Peacefully at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital on Thursday, June 22, 2006. Catherine Julia "Kitty" AZIZ of London in her 90th year. Predeceased by her loving father and mother George and Freda AZIZ, her beloved sister Helen YARED, her brothers Russell and Ernest AZIZ, and her nieces Mariene KOURI and Elaine YARED. Dear aunt of Susan MASCIOTRA and her husband Alex of London and great-aunt of Gregory KOURI and his wife Jean Marie of Miami, Florida, Andrew KOURI and his wife Susan of Montreal, Québec and David MASCIOTRA and Stephanie MASCIOTRA, and many other nieces and nephews. Catherine "Kitty" was an exceptionally talented commercial artist. Renown for her life-like animal portraits, she was also commissioned in her early years to paint Roosevelt's beloved Scottie, "Falla", which is located in the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Library in Hyde Park, New York. Her special artistic works were produced similarly for Prime Minister Mackenzie King, Lord and Lady Alexander, and many others; and, of particular note, a Border Collie employed by the U.S. Army's K-9 Corps to deliver messages during the Second World War. A uniquely independent character, Kitty will be forever loved and missed by close family and Friends. Heartfelt thanks are extended to Doctor Isabel LI and the 6th Floor Palliative Care Team for their tremendous expertise and care. At Kitty's request a private family graveside service was held at Woodland Cemetery on Friday, June 23rd. (A. Millard George Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements)

It is with much sadness that our family announces the passing of a beloved father, Louis BUZANIS of London in his 80th year on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at London Health Sciences Centre Victoria Hospital. Louis was a long standing member of the Greek Community and Council of London. Beloved husband of the late Catherine (Katerina) BUZANIS. Dear father of Georgina and Ron KRUG and grand_son Matthew of Windsor, Sophie and Ron JORGENSEN and granddaughters Cassie and Niki of Mississauga and Frank BUZANIS of London and Peter BUZANIS of Leamington. Survived by brothers and sisters Chris and his wife Georgina BUZANIS and Jim BUZANIS all of London, Noula and her husband Constantinos ARVANITIS of Stratford, Alexandra and her husband John GITZIAS and Georgina KOURVELOS all of Greece. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Fotios and Georgina BUZANIS and brother Bill BUZANIS. Friends will be received at the Logan Funeral Home, 371 Dundas St. (between Waterloo and Colborne St.) on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 131 Southdale Rd. W. on Monday, December 18, 2006 at 1 p.m. with Father Elias DROSSOS officiating. Passed away peacefully, with her sons at her side, on Thursday, March 9, 2006, in her 84th year. Dearly loved mother of Alfred, Frank and Henry. Cherished by her grandchildren Heather, Anton, Monica, Sylvia and Madeleine. Widowed for some time from her husband George. In loving memory of George KOUTSOGIORGAS, born in Karies (Arahova,) Greece, February 13, 1941. George was the loving husband of Mata, father of Maria, Effie and Harie, grandfather of Chrisa, Matina, George and Kosta, and father-in-law to Chris and Dimitri. On January 2, 2006, George passed away suddenly. George was a strong, caring, compassionate man, who loved and cherished his family. A man who loved his wife dearly, adored his three daughters, and lit up when his four beautiful grandchildren entered the room. George loved and lived for his family. George took great pride in his family restaurant - Sotiris Shish Kebob in Burlington, and will be greatly missed by the staff, patrons and Friends. George was a man of great strength and character, who will be missed very much by all who knew and loved him. George will always be our Hero. We will love you always.
