KOBAYASHI, Terry (née Teruko MATSUI)
At Freeport Health Centre in Kitchener, on September 10, 2006, Terry KOBAYASHI (née Teruko MATSUI) passed away peacefully after a courageous struggle. She leaves her daughters, Avital (Leslie) PINNICK of Maale Adumim, Israel, and Tacey Laurie of London, England, her sister, Hiromi MATSUI, and grandchildren, Binyamin, Sarah, Kieran, and Nathan. She was predeceased by her mother Masaye KONDO, her father Toshiro MATSUI, and stepfather Lawrence KONDO. Terry was a retired teacher and former head of the art department at Eastwood Collegiate Institute. She was a fine artist and was very active in the local arts community. Terry was an accomplished musician and long-standing member of the K-W Philharmonic Choir. She co-authored two books on the history of folk art and furniture. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the Friends who supported Terry recently and, in particular, to the staff of Freeport Health Centre, for the loving care they gave Terry. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 1, at 2: 00 p.m. at Parkminster United Church, 275 Erb Street East, Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry's memory may be made to HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre or Lisaard House. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry's memory may be made to Hope Spring Cancer Support Centre or Lisaard House. Mieko YAMAMOTO NEGORO passed away after a lengthy illness at Mount Sinai Hospital on April 1st, 2006. "Mimi" was the beloved wife of the late Toshio YAMAMOTO, Sr. and the late Ichiei NEGORO, loving mother to Toshio and the late Patricia YAMAMOTO, Glenn and Mary Lou YAMAMOTO, and Naomi TSUMURA, dear grandmother of Jennifer YAMAMOTO, Wendy and Terry CHAPMAN, Robert and Kara YAMAMOTO, Sean and Amanda YAMAMOTO, Leanne YAMAMOTO, and Lori TSUMURA, cherished great-grandmother of Noah and Kyla CHAPMAN, Jon GALE and Dawn GALE, cherished aunt of Lois TANI, Mark and Linda NAKAMURA and family, Roy and Kelly TAMURA, and Sachi TAMURA. She is also survived by her sisters: Kiyoshi SATO, Eiko AIDA, June OKURA, Yachi KOBAYASHI, Hiro AOKI, Chiyo MITOBE and their families. It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Betty "Maxine" COOK of Aylmer, formerly of Tillsonburg announces her passing at Terrace Lodge Nursing Home Aylmer on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 in her 78th year. Beloved wife of 59 years to her husband Walter COOK. Dear mother of Dennis (Diane) COOK of Tillsonburg Linda (Bob) COMER of Edmonton; David (Edie) COOK of St. Williams Larry (Sharon) COOK of Paris; Kathy COOK of Edmonton; Randy (Caroline) COOK of Orleans; Sandra (Tony) STAELENS of Ft. McMurray, Alberta. Devoted and dearly loved grandmother to 17 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Maxine was a dear sister to Margaret (Glen) BARONS of Aylmer; Joan (Ozzie) KELLY of Courtland; Audrey (Roy) SHEARER of Courtland; Marylou MUDGE of Tillsonburg. Also survived by sister-in-law Alice WINGROVE of Tillsonburg, brother-in-law Bob (Betty) SHIPP of Aylmer. Also, survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Dora KOBIALKA; Inez SHIPP, and brother Milt WINGROVE. Maxine was a founding member of the Uni Club of Courtland United Church. Maxine is resting at Ostrander's Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (842-5221) on Sunday, April 30, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service for Maxine will be held at Ostrander's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, May 1, 2006 at 1 p.m. Lynn ALLEN of Saint Paul's United Church, Tillsonburg officiating. Cremation. Interment Courtland United Church Cemetery. Entered into the loving arms of our Lord on Sunday, November 12, 2006. Born on October 14, 2006 in Saint Thomas. Precious little girl of Jamie and Jackie CORNISH of Tillsonburg. Dear sister of Kelly, Kimberly and Korie. Our beautiful daughter will be sadly missed by grandma Barb CORNISH (Al), Grandpa Kevin CORNISH (Laurie), Nana Edith KOBUS and Papa Randy MILLSON.
