At Freeport Health Centre in Kitchener, on September 10, 2006,
Terry KOBAYASHI (née Teruko
MATSUI) passed away peacefully after
a courageous struggle. She leaves her daughters, Avital (Leslie)
PINNICK of Maale Adumim, Israel, and Tacey Laurie of London,
England, her sister, Hiromi
MATSUI, and grandchildren, Binyamin,
Sarah, Kieran, and Nathan. She was predeceased by her mother
Masaye KONDO, her father Toshiro
MATSUI, and stepfather Lawrence
KONDO.
Terry was a retired teacher and former head of the art
department at Eastwood Collegiate Institute. She was a fine artist
and was very active in the local arts community. Terry was an
accomplished musician and long-standing member of the K-W Philharmonic
Choir. She co-authored two books on the history of folk art and
furniture. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation
to all the Friends who supported Terry recently and, in particular,
to the staff of Freeport Health Centre, for the loving care they
gave Terry. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 1,
at 2: 00 p.m. at Parkminster United Church, 275 Erb Street East,
Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry's memory may
be made to HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre or Lisaard House.
