Mississauga youth dies after being hit by truck

A 16-year-old Mississauga youth died in hospital yesterday, three
days after a Ford F-150 pickup truck struck him from behind,
knocking him into a ditch and leaving him with brain damage.
Michael KIM was walking north on Mississauga Road on Thursday
at 3 p.m. when the truck, which was also travelling north, hit
him. The speed limit on the road is 50 kilometres an hour.
The driver, a 47-year-old man from Cameron, has not been charged.

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, we lost our hero.
Earl, loving husband of Sue, devoted father of Amy and proud
Grampy of Taylor, died peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2005
surrounded by "his girls". On behalf of Earl and our Family,
we would like to say thank you to our many Friends who were with
us every step of the way; we could not have made this journey
without your constant love and unfailing support. We would also
like to take this opportunity to say thank you to three very
kind, very supportive nurses: Vivian, Amanda and Michael, for
their daily tender care of Earl and their generous support of
our Family during this most difficult time. Thank you also to
the Palliative Care Team and to the Oncology Unit at Lakeridge
Health - Oshawa: Earl was in good hands. Our heartfelt thanks

teaching. He was an agriculturist, journalist, facilitator and
adult educator. Tom was most in his element when he was surrounded
by people working towards a common goal. Along his life's road,
Tom formed countless deep and lasting relationships and touched
the lives of people all over the world. A memorial service will
be held at First United Church 721 Bernard Ave. in Kelowna on
Thursday March 2nd at 1: 00 p.m. with Reverend Helen Hobbs and Rev.

to enjoy his quick wit and entertaining ways. Although he was
an independent and active businessman who owned and operated
his own veterinary pharmaceutical company (K-Vet) for most of
his career, he was active in numerous other endeavors including
a long tenure with the Canadian Figure Skating Association, Chairman
of Conestoga College and many community associations. Never one
to be bored, he thrived on family ski vacations, summers at the
cottage, bridge clubs, interesting and distant travels and always
dabbling in something. Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral
