KIKULIS,
Rita
Born on September 13, 1933 in Leeds, England. Died peacefully
on January 19, 2006. Beloved wife of the recently deceased John
KIKULIS.
Beloved mother of Robert and Lisa; and mother-in-law
of Michele. Forever cherished grandma of Sean and Emma. A unique
and remarkable woman whose humour enlightened our world and who
selflessly gave from her heart until she could give no more.
Those she loved and those who loved her will carry her in their
hearts forever. Rita will be dearly missed by sisters and brothers
in England and family and Friends in Canada. The family would
like to express their gratitude to the nurses and doctors in
Emergency and Intensive Care Unit at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital
for their care and compassion. Friends will be received at The
Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1057 Brock Road, Pickering
(south of 401) 905-686-5589 for visitation on Wednesday, January
25, 2006 from 1: 00-3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations
may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. I am standing
upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails
to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an
object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at
length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the
sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at
my side says, "There, she is gone." Gone where? Gone from my
sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar
as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to
bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished
size is in me - not in her. And, just at the moment when someone
says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her
coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here
she comes!" And that is dying… Death comes in its own time, in
its own way. Death is as unique as the individual experiencing
it. "Gone From My Sight, Henry Van Dyke"
