On Monday, September 11, 2006, after a brief illness in his 90th
year. Born in Toronto in 1917, younger
son of William Norman and
Ruby (SOMERVILLE)
McILWRAITH. A graduate of Cambridge University,
he joined the British Army, and served in the Middle East and
Norway. After the war, he returned to Canada, joined the Department
of External Affairs as a Foreign Service officer with postings
in Geneva, Tokyo, Paris and Oslo. Pre-deceased by his wife Ruth
(née KEHOE) and brother William Gordon. Step-father of Deirdre
and Darragh, father of Mary and Sheila

Sister Anna Gertrude entered into her eternal rest at Mount Saint_Joseph,
Peterborough, Ontario on November 15th 2006, in her 73rd year
of religious life. She was the daughter of the late Martin Sylvester

of Perth, Ontario. Besides the members of her religious community
Sister Anna Gertrude leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews and
cousins in the Ottawa region, Niagara Falls and Scotland. She
is predeceased by her brother Harold and her sisters Ursula (Mrs. H.

Gertrude received her education in Ottawa.
She taught music, choir and organ in Cobourg, Wainwright, Lindsay,
Ottawa, Almonte and Mount Saint_Joseph in Peterborough. Sister
served as Superior in Cobourg before returning to Mount Saint_Joseph
in 1993 where she continued in her music ministry for several
years. Visitation in the chapel of Mount Saint_Joseph, Peterborough
will be held on Friday, November 17th from 7-9 p.m. The Mass
of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mount Saint_Joseph, Peterborough
on Saturday, November 18th at 10: 30 a.m. Interment at Saint Peter's
Cemetery. Arrangements are with Comstock Funeral Home, 356 Rubidge
Street, Peterborough.
