KAHANSKY, Dorothy (née MELAMED)
It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Dorothy KAHANSKY. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, March 26, 2006. A committed personal assistant for more than 30 years to Murray MENKES, she took great honour in her role. For many years Dorothy delighted in bowling and playing Maj Jon. She loved taking her best friend, her dog, Wilbur out for walks and laughing at his unique ways. She took great pride in her volunteer work at the Baycrest Centre for over 40 years. Dorothy will be dearly missed by many Friends and family. She is survived by her sister Bessie, sons Mark and Billy, six grandchildren and her best friend Wilbur. Graveside service Monday, March 27, 2006, 1 p.m. at Lambton Mills Cemetery (Royal York south of Eglinton). Beth Aaron section all welcome. Private Shiva.

KAHKONEN, Jaakko (July 22, 1935-March 1, 2006)
Died peacefully at Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Helina. Cherished father of Tuula (Marcelino), Mark (Liisa) and Paul (Karen). Loving Ukki of Léa, Mathieu, Kyle, Paige, Cole, Katie and a baby on the way. Dear brother of Sylvi and Juha in Finland. Also sadly missed by other relatives and Friends in Finland and Canada. Friends are welcome to attend a memorial visitation to be held at the York Cemetery Visitation, Chapel and Reception Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto, 416-221-3404, on Saturday, March 4, 2006 from 2-4 p.m. A private family funeral will be arranged at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Age 69, of Stratford passed away peacefully at his residence with family at his side on Friday, December 30, 2005. Beloved husband of Doreen (ALLES.) Loving father of Mark ALEXANDER, London, Laurie and husband Wayne NIGH, Nixon, Colin and wife Sandy, Stratford, Sarah and husband Kevin TELFORD, Goderich, Sheri and husband Steve KOMPF, Stratford. He will be missed by his grandchildren Gavin, Meagan, Brandon, Ryan, Athena and Nicolette ALEXANDER, Erin, Adam, Emily and Aidan NIGH, Joshua and Jessica TELFORD, Ethan, Jacob and Hannah KOMPF. Dear son of Dorothy LEE and husband Harry, Kelowna, British Columbia and the late Hubert William ALEXANDER. Dear brother of Joyce and her husband Gordon REID, England, Ivor ALEXANDER, England. Also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Marlene ALLES, Stratford, Barbara and Stuart KAHLE, Mooresville, George and Catherine ALLES, Harrow, Ken and Jennifer ALLES, Toronto and several nieces and nephews. Peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Livingston Lodge in her 87th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Norman Henry FARR. Loving mother of Patricia WHALE (Ron); Larry (Anne Marie) Diana COLEIRO (Joe;) and Ken (Sandra.) Devoted grandma to Steve, Carrie, Mike, Wendy, Marley, Justin, Jenna, and Samantha. Great-grandmother to Amanda, Phillip, Chelsea, Sierra, Jacob, Caleb, Nicholas, Wyatt, and Emily. Sister of Doris HOGAN (Jack, deceased;) Gwen FERGUSON (Harold, deceased); Ray KAHLER (Georgina); Phyllis TERRY, deceased (Bill;) and Mary KAHLER, deceased. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and Friends. A special thanks to the staff of Livingston Lodge for all of their loving care. Visitation will be held at the "Scarborough Chapel" of McDougall and Brown, 2900 Kingston Road, (east of St. Clair Ave. E.) on Monday, March 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Chapel service on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. At London Health Sciences Centre, University Hospital on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, Doctor Sidney SANDERS of London in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Baela (FAINER) SANDERS. Dear brother of the late Anita KAHN. Dear brother-in-law of Goldie CONS of Toronto. Survived by nephews Mark MITTLEMAN, his wife Ginger and their children, Gary MITTLEMAN, his wife Paula and their children from Thornhill and Charles KAHN of Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. Suddenly, after a short illness, on March 17, 2006 at age 85. Beloved wife of Doctor David S. KAHN, loving mother of Jeffrey P. KAHN of Oakville, Ontario and Susan Kahn MORRISON of Chicago, Illinois. Dear grandmother of Rachel and Patrick KAHN and Jack and Tommy MORRISON, step-grandmother to Helen Rose MUTASSEM, and mother-in-law to Cathy DANELIAK (Jeff) and Ken MORRISON (Susan.) Kathaleen will be greatly missed by all. Kathaleen was born in Hampton, New Jersey, in 1920. After high school, she received an R.N. and then served in the U.S. Navy as a nurse during World War 2. Following the war, she earned a B.A. and M.A. from Boston University on the G.I. Bill. David and Kathaleen met in 1954, where they raised their family. Kathaleen was an active member of the American Women's Club of Montreal. In 1993, Kathaleen and David retired to Oakville to be closer to Jeff and his family. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday March 22, 2006 at 11: 00 a.m. at Ward Funeral Home, 109 Reynolds Street, Oakville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
