IWAI,
Kenneth
Takeshi
Passed away suddenly in St. Petersburg General Hospital, in Florida,
on March 31, 2006 at the young age of 70. Beloved husband of
Elaine who he so cherished. Loving father of Darryl (Jan), the
late Dana (David
BROWN) and Dean (Kelly.) Adored Papa of Michelle,
David, Matthew, Kaitlin, Darren, Ali, Connor, Jake and Daniel,
a new grandbaby due in April and many nieces and nephews. Ken's
life was a life well lived. Although he left us much too early,
the last 8 years of his retired life was solely dedicated to
his family, particularly his 9 grandchildren age 2-17, and his
many Friends and golf buddies both in Canada and the United States.
Ken was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on June 23, 1935 and
moved east to Toronto with his parents and older brother Tosh
after the war. He began working in the energy sector as a young
man in his early 20's, and at the same time started his family
with his wife Elaine. He worked for Canada Iron in sales and
later sales management in the gas and oil valve division for
almost 25 years before starting his own manufacturing business
at the age of 48 in Burlington, Ontario, with California based
partner Bob
LYALL. In 1988, Ken founded his own national distribution
company, KTI
Limited, with head offices in Aurora, Ontario and
branch offices in Calgary, Alberta and Montreal, Quebec.
KTI
Limited
currently represents several Canadian and U.S. manufacturers
operating in the natural gas and electric industries. Shortly
after the tragic passing of his daughter Dana in 1997, Ken decided
to completely dedicate his life to his wife and family. He and
Elaine traveled the world extensively and spent winter months
in Florida enabling him to play golf and enjoy the company of
many great Friends all year round. Due to his vibrant love for
life and the people around him, he leaves behind many close family
and Friends both in Canada and the United States. He was considered
a gentleman by all and everyone that knew him will miss his gentle
disposition and quiet sense of humour. We would like to express
a special thank you to his many Friends and family for their
outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. The
family will receive guests at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard
Avenue East, Agincourt, Ontario, Canada, (east of Kennedy Road),
on Thursday, April 6 from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. A funeral
service will be held at The Aurora Trinity Anglican Church, 79 Victoria
Street, Aurora, Ontario, Canada, (south of Wellington, east of
Yonge Street), on Friday, April 7 at 11: 00 a.m. In lieu of flowers,
please send donations in memory of Ken Iwai to the Southlake
Regional Health Centre Foundation, c/o The New Regional Cancer
Centre, at 596 Davis Drive, Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, L3Y 2P9,
would be appreciated by the family.
