of Fort Erie, Ontario. Bettye was a life-long activist in her
community, and one of the pioneers of early childhood education
in the Ottawa area. She founded the co- operative nursery school
which today bears her name, and helped establish the early childhood
education programme at Algonquin College. She will be deeply
missed by her family, former colleagues, and especially by those
whose childhood was touched by her life. The funeral will be
private, with a remembrance gathering to be announced. Arrangements
in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, Ottawa.

At age 96 years, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March
4th, 2006 at Residence Desjardins in St. Sauveur des Monts, Quebec.
She was the widow of Jonathan Archibald
HODGSON whom she married
on October 25, 1930 and who predeceased her in October 1974.
"Pinkie" as she was affectionately known, graduated from McGill
University in 1930 and was very active in the Junior League,
Young Women's Christian Association, Women's Canadian Club, the
Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Garden Club. She was an
avid gardener and loved above all else her home and garden at
Murray Lake in Morin Heights. She will be fondly remembered by
her extended family which include her four children: Joanne Locke

Peacefully on March 27th, 2006 after a long and courageous fight
with cancer at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Wavey for 54 years.
Cherished father of Mary. Respected father-in-law of Jim (Grandy).
Step-grandfather of Glenn (Liz, Clancy, Alex) and Sheila, and
a surrogate father to many. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces
and nephews across Canada. Eddie will be missed by all who were
fortunate enough to know him. The family would like to express
their gratitude to all the health care workers who helped Eddie
with his battle over the years with a special heartfelt thanks
to the Doctors and Nurses at the Toronto East General Palliative
Care Unit who helped Eddie and his family through this difficult

Cremation Centre, 1111 Danforth Avenue (1 block east of Donlands
Subway) on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at which time a service will
