Peacefully, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on May 12th, 2006, Mary Phylis BRAYFORD of Watford in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late Charles BRAYFORD (1990.) Phylis was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her immediate family; Kay BRAYFORD and Leo NIEUWENHUIZEN, Viola and John MILLS and grandchildren Andrea and Mark HOBA. She had a kind, gentle and gracious spirit. Phylis will be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews and Friends. Predeceased by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. FULLER, John Archibald
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad John Archibald FULLER on June 6th, 2006 father and grandfather. Born March 31 1925 to Jack FULLER and Katherine BOYD, John was raised in Westmount, Quebec. John attended L.C.C. and B.C.S. During the war, John entered the Navy and served in Halifax. He subsequently attended McGill University where he completed a Bachelor of Arts. While in university, John joined Zeta Psi Fraternity. He made many lifelong Friends as a result and was instrumental in re-starting the McGill Chapter. John was also a member of Royal Montreal and enjoyed golf and tennis. Upon completion of University, John joined Nesbitt Burns and worked there until his retirement in December 2000. He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary Elizabeth HOBART and his two sons David William and Henry James. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Nancy FULLER (Sim BRIGDEN), Micki MORTON (Peter), Jill GIBSON (Bob) and his grandchildren David, Lindsay, Jeffery, Katie, Alex, Garrett, Austin, Tory, Wesley and Steele. He is also survived by his brother William and sisters Lella and Nancy. He will be deeply missed by all of us. Many, many fond memories and relationships developed as a result of the special place that is Eagle Mountain. We would like to thank Rosemary Seitz, Johnny Gebreyessus and Sharon Frias, his principal caregivers, for their incredible devotion and care during the last five years. The family can not thank you enough. Many thanks to the third floor nurses of the Queen Elizabeth Vigi Sante. John, we all have our special memories of you: dancing barefoot in a tux, snipping branches with a beer in your hand, 're-gifting' books! We shall miss the twinkle in your eye and your witty repartee. A private funeral was held Thursday, June 8th, 2006 at Mount Royal Cemetery. CLARK, Eula Johanna (formerly HOBBIN, née TAIT/TAITE/TATE)
Of Norwich, Ontario, at People Care, Tavistock on Thursday June 15, 2006, after a brief illness. Eula was in her 99th year and was born on the family farm at South Walsingham, Ontario on March 15, 1908. She is survived by her loving daughter Joan (HOBBIN) BISHOP and husband Robert of Woodstock; her dear granddaughter Pamela (BISHOP) CHRISTIE and husband Peter of London; and her cherished and loving great granddaughter Erin JOHNSON and husband David of London, England. Also survived by nephews Jim MERCHANT (Zora) of Sherwood Park, Alberta; Larry TAIT/TAITE/TATE (Lynn) of Woodstock; Brennan TAIT/TAITE/TATE of Beachville; niece Marion ANDERSON of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as several great nieces and nephews. Eula was predeceased by her dearly loved parents Henry and Ellena (McCALL) TAIT/TAITE/TATE, an infant son Raymond Peter HOBBIN, husbands Peter HOBBIN and Stanley CLARK, sisters Blanche PALMER (Stewart), Orpha WESTFALL (John), Viola MERCHANT (Tom,) brother Morley TAIT/TAITE/TATE (May,) and several nieces and nephews. In approximately 1918, the family moved to Norwich and the five children of Henry and Ellena grew up at the Norwich Gore, attending the Gore Public School and the Gore United Church. Our Mother and Grandmother was active in the community and enjoyed being a member of the Norwich Historical Society and the Norwich United Church. Her other pursuits included decorating and quilting and in particular painting which she continued to do into her late nineties. She was extremely proud of and took an avid interest in our United Empire Loyalist ancestors (the McCalls of Norfolk County) and passed on a great deal of family history. Eula enjoyed life and was always happy, healthy and content. She was kind, generous and blessed with a wonderful sense of humour. Eula was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. The family feels blessed to have had her in our lives for so many years and we are so grateful for her love. Thank you Grandma. Friends will be received at The Arn-Lockie Funeral Home, 45 Main St. W., Norwich on Monday, June 19 from 1-2 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Eula's life will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. The family of the late Julia "Jo" HOBBS would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many wonderful relatives and special Friends who helped make Julia's life complete. Special thanks to Doctor JETHWA, who was not only her doctor but a dear friend, along with all of the physicians and staff at the Carling Heights Medical Centre. We extend our appreciation to the administration, nurses, staff and residents at the Mount Hope Long Term Care facility where Julia spent the last 9 years of her life. Special thanks to Paul NEEDHAM and his staff at the Westview Funeral Chapel for helping us celebrate Julia's life. To the many Friends and acquaintances who surrounded Julia with love and companionship, we thank you all. Junice NOBES graced the world with her presence. Her smile, warmth and willingness to lend-a-hand will be missed by all of those who knew her. Junice passed away in London, Ontario on July 5, 2006. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Frances STEWARD/STEWART/STUART, Robert NOBES, Audrey HAZUDA (D.J. SKINNER) and Barbara WEISDORF- HOBBS (Steve HOBBS). October 3, 2006, Grace passed gently into eternity with her heavenly father. The source of her peace was her complete trust in the unmerited love and forgiveness of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Grace was known for caring for others, especially people with material, physical or spiritual needs. She will be fondly remembered by her brothers Albert Elmer (Hattie) and Gordon (Dorothy) and her many nieces and nephews, extended family and Friends. Peacefully, on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, British Columbia. Born January 5, 1921 in North Bay, and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Bill joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and served in England as a F/L pilot instructor with the Commonwealth Air Training Plan. He earned a Forestry Degree at U of T, and raised a family of eight children with his wife of 63 years, Kathleen (Kay). Upon retiring in 1969, Bill and Kay relocated to White Rock, British Columbia where he enjoyed a second career in real estate and as a Canadian Executive Services Association Advisor. Predeceased by son Donald, grand_son Peter and great-grand_son Sage and by his sisters Elizabeth HOBBS and June TAILOR/TAYLOR. Bill will be very much missed and always remembered by his wife Kay, two sons William George and Brian Douglas and five daughters, Gaye (and Peter) DOLEZAL, Beverley (and Steve ERICKSON,) Sandra (and Wayne) MALLEY, Candy (and Peter) HODSON, Wendy (and Troy) READY and 16 grandchildren and their spouses and 11 great-grandchildren. Suddenly and peacefully in Toronto on Wednesday June 21, 2006, surrounded by her family, Norma (Nan) Winnifred Ecclestone LEGRIS, in her 88th year. Nan was the devoted wife of Joseph Antoine (Tony) LEGRIS for 61 years. Loving mom of Paul LEGRIS (Pierrette,) Etobicoke; Robert (Cheryl,) Calgary, Alberta; Anne Clifford ANDERSON Toronto, and Rosemary Legris MacKENZIE (Gavin,) Markham. Devoted grandmother (Nana) of Eric and Chris CLIFFORD, Tom LEGRIS, Ashley Legris HOBSON, Charlotte, Travis, and Brooke MacKENZIE. Great-grandmother of Jax HOBSON. She leaves her sister Eva Ecclestone SHIELDS and was predeceased by six siblings, Inez, Alice JACKSON, Phyllis, Anne (Kit) FRYER, Tom, and Charles. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Nan was the youngest child of Flora Jermyn ECCLESTONE and Albert Edward ECCLESTONE of Bracebridge, Ontario. She trained and was registered a nurse at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto until her marriage to Tony in 1945. A loving wife and mother, she devoted her life to her family and Friends in Toronto and Muskoka. She was an excellent cook and lifelong knitter, as well as an avid golfer and curler at St. George's Golf and Country Club in Etobicoke for many years. Nan was also a passionate bridge player and played in four different clubs in Toronto. Above all, she was a lifelong Tory supporter. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway on Thursday, from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, Rathburn Road (at Kipling) on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. Interment on Monday, June 26, 2006 in Bracebridge. Catherine departed this life on Thursday, October 5, 2006. She was the loved and only child of Earle Cecil CRATCHLEY and Gladys Susannah MARSH. Cherished wife of George T. PHILLIPS. Catherine was a graduate of Victoria College, University of Toronto and O.I.S.E. She had a happy and rewarding career as a teacher and administrator with the Toronto Board of Education. Catherine wished to be cremated. A burial service will take place at her parent's grave in Park Lawn Cemetery - conducted by Father Philip HOBSON of the Church of Saint Martin in-the-Fields. Peacefully, after a courageous fight with cancer at Victoria Hospital, Westminster Campus, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 Connie S. PRIDHAM of London in her 55th year. Beloved wife and best friend for 30 years of Wayne PRIDHAM of London. Loving mother of Jennifer and her husband Michael HOBYAN and Cassandra and Ryan ABREU, all of London. Proud grandma of Griffin and Rayne HOBYAN. Dear and loving daughter of Coral and the late John POOLE. Dearly loved by her sister Betty and Bert SHERMAN, and brothers Bill and Diana POOLE and Richard and Janice POOLE, all of London. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call at the McFarlane and Roberts Funeral Home (2240 Wharncliffe Road South, Lambeth) on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 10 a.m. Reverend Elaine CLARK officiating.
