Peacefully, at his residence, surrounded by the love of his family, Thursday, July 13, 2006, Brian Leslie HITCHCOCK, age 60, of Saint_Joseph. Beloved husband of Marianne (WALKER) HITCHCOCK. Loved father of Corey HITCHCOCK of Hamilton and Jay HITCHCOCK and his wife Bobbi-Jo of Kincardine. Loving grandpa of Arwen HITCHCOCK. Loved brother of Barry, Gord, Les, Glenn and Peter HITCHCOCK, Beatrice TROTTER, Beverly VENTO, Kathy KENNEDY, Wendy DURANTE, Ivy BERRY, Cheryl HITCHCOCK and their spouses. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Ivy (PEARSON) HITCHCOCK. RIDEOUT, David A., M.D., (F.R.C.P.C)
(January 24th, 1936-April 20th 2006)
Passed peacefully away in the presence of family at the Saint John Regional Hospital. David was born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, and is predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary (HITCHCOCK) RIDEOUT, sister Mary, and brothers Hallam, Hurlow, and Frank. Survived by brothers and sisters Ernest, Walker, Samuel, Elizabeth, Roberta and Donald. Remembered lovingly by his wife Rosalita his children Arthur (Mary), Michele (Dan), Karen (Stephen), Andrea and Jason; and his grandchildren Maria, Elizabeth, James, Andrew, Jane, Thomas, Lauren and Caelan. He started his medical career as a family doctor in Sussex, New Brunswick. Then specializing in anesthesiology at the University of Toronto, he was a devoted member of the operating team for 30 years in Saint John, New Brunswick and Sudbury, Ontario. A Funeral service was held on Sunday April 23, 2006 in Saint John, New Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Liver Foundation and/or the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital. JAMES, Eric
Passed away peacefully at Sunnycrest Nursing Home, Whitby on Tuesday, March 28th, 2006. He leaves behind his wife Phyllis JAMES, step-daughter Julia and husband Vodeck FEDOROWICZ of Whitby, step-son Peter HITCHCOCK, his wife Kim and their children Jasper and Austin of Toronto. He is fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Rosaline RAYMAN of Whitby and her family. Eric JAMES spent his life making music. He displayed clear talent with his toy piano as a five year old child and within ten years was providing musical accompaniment in a London cinema at the twilight of the silent era. After serving in the entertainment division in the Royal Air Force during World War 2, he began his twenty year association with the British Broadcasting Corporation, performing on more than a thousand broadcasts. He went on to conduct, compose and accompany many well known entertainers. His greatest accomplishment was as the sole music associate to the late Sir Charles CHAPLIN. He emigrated to Canada in 1988 with his wife Phyllis where he published his autobiography entitled: Making Music with Charlie Chaplin. In his 34th year, passed away peacefully with his family and Friends at his side, and in his heart at the London Health Sciences Centre on May 25, 2006 after a courageous fight with cancer. Beloved husband to Christine HITCHEN (VANDENHEUVEL) and loving father to Grace (11 months) and Madison (2½ years) HITCHEN. son of Darlene (PINKETT) and Roger GIGUERE and the late David HITCHEN. Son-in-law to Arnold and Kia VANDENHEUVEL. Dear friend and brother to Peter, Darren and Phillip HITCHEN. Caring brother-in-law to Karen and Larry MOORE, Karen HITCHEN, Carrie HITCHEN, Kim HITCHEN, Alexandra and Vincent VANDENHEUVEL. Entered into rest suddenly on Thursday January 19, 2006 at Jekyll Island, Georgia, in her 76th year. Beloved wife of Melvin. Much loved sister of Helen JOHNSON, Audrey SMITH, Mavis WESTLAKE (Don,) Peggy HITCHINGS (Cecil,) sister-in-law Joyce and the late Herb, Ernie, Joe and Albert. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. A very avid golfer, Evelyn won the Ladies Championship 11 times over 4 decades at the Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club. In her younger days, she was very active in the Ontario Women's Volleyball Association as a player, coach and referee. Jack BURK/BURKE died at home in peace, after fighting cancer for many years with dignity and courage. He was the much loved husband of Winifred; cherished father of Sandra, Jacqueline, Patrice (Jay HITCHON,) Glen and Pamela, inspirational grandfather and proud Poppa of Tanya (Kevin LAVIE), Jackson, Tara, Taylor, Jamie and John and joyful, great-grandfather of Lexa and Liam. Eldest brother of Frank (Blanche), Shirley, Vern (Marcella) and Larry (Margaret Rose). He was born October 10, 1924 in Erieau, Ontario and was the son of Vera and Glen BURK/BURKE. Jack was a distinguished veteran of World War 2, Royal Canadian Air Force officer, Lancaster 428 Ghost Squadron. He bravely joined at the young age of sixteen and returned with his beloved partner for life, Winifred PROCTER. Jack was the original "good guy", his huge smile and generous spirit will live on in many hearts. During his life Jack was Director of Transport for Miracle Food Mart, Past President of the Windsor Transportation Club, Past Chairman of the Essex-Kent District Canadian Industrial Traffic League. He loved life and loved learning; as his body failed his mind remained strong, he watched the news and did his crosswords until his last days. His belief in heaven and God provided him with comfort and in the end he welcomed the arms of his angel to carry him on. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by his family. A private family service will be held at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, Toronto, 416-767-3153. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia on March 8, 1916, died at home in Toronto on September 25, 2006. Predeceased by her beloved first husband Lucas ACLIROS, and her second husband Tibor ELKAN. Mourned by her dear older sister Ludmilla DJURKOVIC and husband Vlado (Melbourne, Australia,) and cousin Karin HASBARGEN and husband Freerk (Denmark, Australia). Much missed by her sons Serge Liros (Blue Hill, Maine) and friend Kathy BEAL, Alex LIROS (Toronto) and George LIROS (Easton, Pennsylvania.) Lovingly remembered by her four grand-daughters: Nicole SIMMS and husband Jonathan and their two children Dylan and Hannah (Schenectady, New York), Christina LIROS and Joe RICHARDS (Greenville, Maine), Sara VEGA- LIROS and Janice and their family (Turner's Falls, Massachusetts), and Alexandra LIROS (Greenville, Maine.) Also missed by her best and oldest Friends: Herta and Tony HITZELBERGER (Kelowna, B.C.,) Agnes LANTOS and her sister (Toronto,) and Ludmilla SEMENA (Ottawa.)
